What do y'all think about changing the page links, circled in the example below, so that they read something like (1 2 3 . . . 58 59 60)? I'm pretty sure VB has this as an optional format. For me, it would make navigation a little easier.

I think it's a good idea, Skep. I don't see it in the ACP right now, but I may be missing something. I'll peruse more studiously when I get to work. :)

Okay, this is weird. I was just thinking the other night that this would be a cool idea and now... voo walla... someone suggests it.

I just hope it can be implemented. :praying:

Okay. Upon further research, vm and I have determined that this is not a default vB option, but would require a hack. That's not to say it won't happen, of course, but since we can't just flip a switch it will take some time and investigation to see if it can be accomplished.

IOW, please hold. Your call is important to us. :D

Thanks for trying. Perhaps I saw this as an option available in phpBB when Girl 6 was setting up SC; I'm sure I saw it somewheres.

That's probably true, Skep. I notice SC's looks like:

1 ... 85, 86, 87

Yeah. In fact the second and third pages aren't usually the ones you want to jump straight to (once the thread goes past 4 or 5 pages), so (for example) 1 .... 11, 12, 13, 14 might be even better.

Or you could just lock every thread that gets to 5 pages.

Believe it or not, there are hacks available to do just that. It's amazing how many existing hacks are designed to limit the abilities of the users and how few there are to empower the users... makes ya think. :chin:

That's just silly. Although it would make thread killing much easier.
