I'm tired.

I want to take a bath.

Jobs suck.

Y'all aren't posting enough to keep me awake.

I really, really want my mom's keftedes and pilaf but I'm way too fatigued to even contemplate making them myself.

Which reminds me, I can't duplicate her perfect mashed potatoes no matter how hard I try.

I don't like our post icons but don't want to change them 'cause it would be a pain in the ass.

Moan.

Naw, not today, I'm afraid. I shall simply have to annoy the crap out of all y'all instead.

Then you better get yourself to a good audiologist doctor quick smart (if affordable), because such symptoms can sometimes be the onset of tinnuitis.

If you can't afford a doc, drink lots and lots and lots of water for a week, and take large doses of Vitamin B-complex pills for that same week.

Today I get responses to my last two emails to a customer who was convinced we had sold her information to sexual preadators and were conspiring against "her work" or some crazy shit. She was calling me all kinds of names in all caps. Not a problem except I sent those emails 7 months ago when I cancelled the account. Now, her email address includes PhD, she signs her emails Dr., she told me she charges 150.00/hour for whatever it is she does (never explained) and puts weird notes on her emails like "cc: legal person" to scare me I guess.

It's frightening when really smart people are also batshit crazy I have decided.

I'm tired. Have been for days.

I am not getting anywhere learning Afrikaans but I'm surrounded by Afrikaans speakers and I'm beginning to get pissed off by the sound of it.

I can't use Norton Ghost in windows because it needs a free slot in the MBR partition table and I already partitioned my hard drive into the maximum of 3 primary partitions and 1 extended.

There has been a rash of 4 wheeler robberies in this area. It finally happened. I get up around 2:30 this morning only to look out the window and the shop door is wide open. I wake up warrenly, we walk down to the workshop and the 4 wheeler is gone. We had it bolted to the floor. 2 motorcycles, 1 fourwheeler, trailblazer, 6 saddles with all the trimmings. Makes me wonder if they will be back for more.
It had take them a while on the 4 wheeler, there was a hacksaw and hammer on the floor. I had gotten up around 11:30 to let the dogs out because they were barking and wouldn't shutup. I figure someone must have been out there then, but I didn't notice anything unusual when I looked out the window. They broke into the lawn tractor shed too, but everything is still there. I asked the deputy if they saw 4 horses when they drove up, they said no only two. We walked the fence line to find that Angel and BJ were lying down and the boys were just grazing.
Well, he is with the deputies and we have a storm trying to come in, so I will go sit on the porch and wait.......Luckly Roxanne is sleeping through all of this.

That sucks Inland Wave and warrenly. Having been burgled before, I understand the feeling of violation as well as the incredulity and anger that someone out there can have so little respect and empathy that they can steal something others have worked for. I hope those people are caught and prosecuted.

I think I made it sound like they stole all of that stuff, sorry about that, but they just got the four wheeler. We have all the other stuff in the workshop as well. We have been working on building a tack room in the horse barn, so everything is in the workshop. If they don't come back for all the power tools and the saddles I will be surprised. We are very tired as operating on less than 2 hours sleep and I caught a nap. He is out trying to secure the buildings. We are just fortunate that was all they wanted for now. The deputies also told us to get a hitch lock for the horse trailer so we did that this morning too. The insurance office has already called but they are going to have to talk to Warrenly, he knows more about all this than I do, plus he was the one that talked with the cops. He is ready to get to bed he starts graveyards tonight, I start evenings tomorrow. I think Roxanne needs to stay with a friend over the weekend. I don't want her hear by herself in the evening.Must go see if Lowe's or Home depot has a driveway alarm system. Hopefully something easy to install. Thanks for your concern.

I had my dog, Cuddles, put down today. I did despite my husband and kids insisting not to because my dog was suffering, in pain. I feel like I killed my child. At least our last time together was happy and loving. I know I did the most humane thing, but it feels so wrong.

What? Beth, what happened? I didn't even realize Cuddles was ill. I'm so sorry.Cuddles had help problems since we got him, one thing after another, he was just too sick, even with treatments, there was no real hope for him to recover or be free from suffering. Last night I realized that I was being selfish trying to keep him around just so we wouldn't lose him.

My condolences Beth. So, so difficult even when it's the right and most loving thing to do. Thank you. It was my hardest decision, I think. I hope I never have to face this again.

It's the unfortunate price we pay for loving animals and it is gutkicked painful. As difficult as it is, I have found the joy of living with dogs outweighs it, so always end up right back on the roller coaster.

I hope the good memories replace this grief over time.

Sorry it came to that for Cuddles, Beth. I knew you'd been struggling with this decision for a while.

warrenly and inland wave, I hope you are able to get that feeling of security back soon. Considering all the trouble they went to get that one vehicle and yet they left all the rest, my inclination would be to think they got what they wanted and won't be back.

Dingfod
05-14-2005, 11:16 AM
I agree. The deputies thought that too.

We may never get the feeling of security that we naively had prior to a few weeks ago back. Prior to that we hardly ever locked the shop or the house figuring that locks only kept honest people out. Although our 700 foot driveway provides privacy for us, it also provides cover for dishonest people. They're lucky I didn't hear them and catch them in the act. I'm lucky they weren't hiding there somewhere ready to jump me when I went out to check everything out.

JoeP
05-14-2005, 12:15 PM
Notwithstanding my baseball bat comment, warrenly, be careful if you do catch someone in the act. Unless you're armed and they're definitely not and you can avoid using force, I wouldn't want you to come off worse. Either you get hurt or you get a lawsuit where legitimate self-defence doesn't ^%$*&^%*( help you.

Dingfod
05-15-2005, 12:13 AM
I was armed with a rifle and a Maglite, both of which make a pretty decent club if necessary. I could never ever use force in excess of that which is made necessary. In other words, I would never shoot a fleeing criminal unless I thought by fleeing he posed more of a danger to others in his path. Unlike Texas, you can't kill someone for a property crime in Oklahoma.
