I can't believe I am doing this but I feel particularly communicative today. So, without further ado in my quest to up my post count here goes:
1. How'd you find the Freethought Forum?
I am sure I must have read about it over on II.
2. Are you a member of any other online forums? Which?
II, HH and Armour Archive.
3. How do you feel about smilies (emoticons)?
They are very nice. I just don't have the patience to find an appropriate one, so I never use them. I enjoy seeing them in other people's posts, however. Some of them are quite funny. :)
4. How do you feel about 2000+ smilies?
Like Liberace said, "Too much of a good thing...is wonderful!"
5. Is flaming:
A. Hilarious
B. Beneath you
C. Irritating as fuck
Rarely A, always B and invariably C.
6. Is vulgar language:
A. Hilarious
B. Beneath you
C. Irritating as fuck
The fuck if I know... Shit. Not sure. I guess it's just fucking fine.
7. Why did the chicken cross the road?
I plead the 5th.
8. Who pays for your food?
That would be me, unfortunately.
9. What's one thing you've always wanted to do but never have?
Sheesh, that would be quite a list. Everything left on the list is, unfortunately, impossible. I have done pretty much everything on it that's possible. ;)
10. What is your single favorite place in the world?
I guess, my house. Hmmm, dull, I know. Realistically? Between a set of silicone-filled Ds. :D
11. What's the significance of your username?
Er... It's, like, my name and stuff...
12. What about your avatar?
Don't have one. I would like one but have never gotten around to making one. Hmmm... Is there a size restriction? Does it get uploaded? How's it work?
There. Now I am ready for that welcome bot.

at most 100 x 100, and at most 50k. It gets uploaded onto :ff:.
So, without further ado in my quest to up my post count here goes
If you want to up your post count, try shorter posts.

I'm sure someone around here will make you an avatar if you can't or don't want to make one of your own. I can't seem to find the size limits right now, but I'm sure someone else will tell you here. It does get uploaded. (eta: See?)
And now, the moment you've been waiting for:
:welcome: to the FF, Julian!

:chin: What kind of avatar would you want Julian? It wouldn't be until the weekend that I could get to work on one.

I don't know what you possessed you to post, Julian, but I sure am thrilled you did. Now we actually have two (http://www.freethought-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2963) posters with a less than C count introducing themselves. :woohoo:
:welcome1: again, Julian.

I was thinking of using my device for an avatar. By the device, I mean the device I use when doing my medieval re-enactment stuff. I guess I could come up with a picture of one of my shields once I get home.
An avatar is kinda personal, right? It should reflect something about you? I mean, even if it is silly and non-sensical, even that says something about the person.
I am still leaning toward my device.
I am glad to see that I broke the vm welcome bot's behavior. :)
I generally make short posts but for some reason I have just been typing happy today. I wrote a very long (for me) post in Moose's sex poll over on II today, as well. Two actually. I just get carried away.
I am a madman, make me stop!!!!
Julian
P.S. Thanks for your kind welcomes. :)

Okay, I found an older picture of me here on the office computer so I am inserting that for now. I will get around to that device thing this week, for sure.

Welcome JuliaN! Nice picture .. you have a very European look to you :)

Thank you kindly. I do look a bit like the Terminator in that picture. Everybody tells me I sound exactly like Arnold. Everybody always wants me to say, "I'll be back."
Sigh.
I am not normally quite so grim but it is good to have the ability occasionally. ;)

He's finnish, if I recall correctly? Antti? I don't understand a single word of Finnish, it is the weirdest language. Completely unrelated to the rest of the Nordic languages. Hope all is well with both of you. :)

Finnish yeah, and yeah it's an impossible language :). I can say the odd sentence but I think it would take me the rest of my life to achieve any sort of fluency. He speaks Danish though - well Swedish, which I know you fervently argue is different but he says he can converse with Danes easily enough ;) - which he says is a much easier lingo. Maybe I should just try and learn Swedish.

I can count to three and that's it.

Why? Everybody who speaks Swedish or Danish speak English. No point in learning a language spoken by such a small group of people. But, hey, YMMV. :)
It is true that most Danes understand Swedish and vice versa. That does't make the language the same, though. And try exposing a Dane to a heavy Skånsk accent and watch their hair curl in consternation. :D

well I am gonna visit Scandinavia eventually .. I seem to have been planning to for ages; never have the money - so it would be nice to speak a small amount of the lingo, even if the natives all spoke English :)

As with all languages, the problem is not with learning a few phrases, it is understanding the reply that's the rub... ;)
