Hi, I’m Alex.

I’m a 29 years old. I’m an open-minded lady who lives in a quite little corner of Australia, Fremantle. Nothing very exciting ever happens here, which isn't such a bad thing really I guess, but it's why I just love meeting new and interesting people, from all over the world, on the net.

:yup:

Ha! You can't fool me. Thanks to Hollywood, I know all about those quiet little corners of Australia. Full of crocodile-wrestling drag queens they are. ;)

Welcome to FF, Alex. :welcome1:

For everyone's info, Alex lives about 20 minutes away from me. This will be the first time another member has been within about 3000 km of me! YES. Now you're all in very big trouble.

Hi
Yay more Aussie's to stem the tide.
I live in Sydney but in the West Indies at the mo. Visited your neck of the woods last year for a wedding/holiday. Really liked it, i think i could live there. I really liked the atmosphere of Fremantle.

There's more than one person in that part of Oz? Amazing.

Just kidding. I remember Fremantle from the NBC television coverage of the 1987 America's Cup yacht races.

I am doing fine thanks for asking,

the smilie has three eyes, it is inspired by transmetropolitan, if you search for transmet or transmetropolitan you can see several posts where I explain transmet.

basically, warren ellis used a 3 eyed smilie to promote the comic book and in the comic the three eyed smilie becomes something of a symbol for rebellion against authority, more or less.

Adora, if you don't like me, and you don't want to know me, I think it would be a great idea if you just simply ignored me and anything I post here. It's really very easy, just place me on your 'ignore' list.

Alex :)

adora is something of an abrasive bitch, but you shouldnt take her personally, alex, she is like that to everyone.

she is also fun and insightful and shit, at times anyway.

oh, and she is a poster child for a modern liberal education that focuses on under represented minorities and how the man is evil,

I've got a better idea.

You use the ignore button instead.

beyelzu
06-02-2005, 07:45 AM
adora, you ever ignore anyone?

just curious, cuz when I read alex's post, I figured that there was no chance in hell that you would put someone on ignore.

Adora: This is Alex's welcome thread. The proper etiquette for a welcome thread is to welcome them to the board. I suggest something like: "Hi, welcome to FF. My name is Adora. I look forward to conversing with you in other threads in the future." There are many acceptable variations, but I think for simplicity sake you should just start with the basics.

But I could never bring myself to ignore your big manly muscular penis-icon Bey. It sends my petals all a-quivver.

I don't believe the fact that she's like that to everyone mitigates her lack of concern and consideration for others. I'm sorry, but I have little time for people who can't manage to express themselves in a civil and proper manner.

As for Adora being fun and insightful, that is a side of her I have yet to witness.

Adora, I reinterate, if you don't like me, or what I post here--ignore me.

You're not likely to get far with that plea, Alex. Frankly I'd take her advice and put her on ignore.

For complicated reasons, I'm breaking my own rule (I normally never post in this subforum).

Alex Bragi, it's good to see you here, and welcome ! Your contributions here are fun to read. Please put flamers on Ignore; best way.

I'm an Aussie, but now ex-pat, living in Germany.

Wtf is this post supposed to mean anyway? I mean, I don't see what prompted this. Certainly not Alex's av, I should think. No?

I couldn't agree more (and with bey and vm too). Oh, also our ignore feature now comes with a hide option if you don't want to see the "posted by a person on your ignore list" placeholders. :yup:

But, you see, Adora is on record as finding confrontation and abusiveness to be entertaining. However, she is great at dishing it out, but she is not so good at taking it. Apparently, what she actually means is she finds being abrasive entertaining, but is not so entertained when she is treated in the same manner. Classic double standard.

As for Adora being fun and insightful, that is a side of her I have yet to witness.

sooner or later you will, probably

I've never noticed that.

I don't know Alex. I don't know if I like your av anymore, it caught my husband's eye and he figures I should get a bra like that or something. :D

I'm like sure, yeah, I'll get right on that. Looks real comfy.

Welcome Alex -- though we've already briefly met.

This is a great board; I enjoy it, and I bet you will too. I like your approach.

Of course even (perhaps especially) the best boards have wastes of time. Ignore the dipshits, either the old-fashioned way or by using the board software. It means you might miss out on sophisticated treatises about Japanese comic books, but if you can live with that possibility everything else is positive.

Ahhh, but there you miss the whole point John. If one "took" it in the way you think one should, one would be deprived of more. So how can you say I'm not so good at taking it, when my reactions work so well at stirring more up?

*sighs* Bey, you're the only one who understands me. Cookie?
