My forums are:
FF -- 'Nuff said.
JREF -- Randi -- Where I got started with this stuff internet-wise. I was already a Randi fan from his radio days in New York (1970s). Read his books. Googled his name and found his site. Read his weekly column for a while without messing with the forum at all, but later became a forum regular. Now somewhat disaffected, but still there.
Skeptical Community http://skepticalcommunity.com/phpbb2/index.php -- Now my main forum. Serious overlap in membership with other forums.
Skeptic PIE -- Low traffic. Too low. Lots of registered members from other forums, but little participation. I am the moderator of the Railroad forum (see link in sig). Arctic Penguin dominates the chatter forum. Much worth reading from him, but not enough conversation.
Internet Infidels -- I have (or had) an account there, but haven't been there in ages. OK they are the right sort, but who needs to read the same refutation of Christian fundamentalism over and over. All right already.
I have also popped in on various other forums when linked to from these, but didn't stick around.
I also lurk at:
Free Republic -- American right wing big deal forum.
Democratic Underground -- American left wing big deal forum.
How about y'all?
Mostly here and SC. Occasionally at mu.nu, SkepticForum, and at the Emotipad forum. I'm finished with JREF except that I look in a couple times a week to keep up on the scandals. :D I look in on IIDB from time to time but I've never posted there.

Heh, well, I recognize you from those other boards. I'm on the dark side; the other side, the side of Pure Woo. :giggle:
I'm mainly on Yahoo, all kinds of boards, including quite a few I own or moderate.

Hey cool! The dark side has so many fun things to talk about. :yup:
Most of the boards I check out regularly have been mentioned already. I also lurk on a couple of vBulletin sites, a couple of forum administration boards, and a smattering of random places I found while link hopping.

Like Abdul, I started out with these forum things at the JREF - before that I used to post in newsgroups like rec.puzzles Also like Abdul and Skep, I'm pretty disaffected with the JREF now.
I'm registered at the other skeptic boards though I don't post much (never yet at II). The only one not mentioned so far, that I use is www.physicsforums.com which is not just about physics, despite its name. It has a fairly big philosophy section, though I don't post in that.

I didn't think to mention usenet groups. I was a regular back before the WWW was important. I still lurk on nyc.transit, but my posting days on usenet are long gone.

I have accounts on a lot of forums... JREF, SkepticalCommunity, Skeptics Society Forums, Ebla, Philosophy Forums, Physics Forums, Internet Infidels, Bad Astronomy, and of course, the Bruce Willis forums. :yup:
Out of all those many forums, I only actually post here and SkepticalCommunity, and I've become an infrequent contributor there. I also administer a forum and participate on another that I haven't listed, because I'm known by name on both and don't want you scoundrels knowing who I really am.
I really like FF; the culture is nice and the customization of the forum software kicks 7-12 kinds of ass. If I had more time, I'd contribute more to the discussion. I only wish there was a little more political discussion here, I always liked that about JREF and SkepticalCommunity.

I agree. SC's political forum is particularly good, imo.

FF, obviously.
ChristianForums: Over 28,000 posts but quit recently over their militant fortress mentality.
Cross+Flame: Where I go when I wanna talk religion seriously.
IIDB: Fun to play around, lots of cool people.
I occasionally visit Ebla, but it's too much work to be really relaxing.

Hey cool! The dark side has so many fun things to talk about. :yup:
My problem is, I find so many interesting groups, join up, then find I belong to so many I can't keep up. Even though I just joined this forum, it seems to be varied enough, and easy to use, that I find I've been checking daily.
I was on an EZ board forum (ufos) but for some reason, don't know if it's me or them, it's very hard to navigate, so I've given up. I'll lurk on JREF and post a "yeah, that's what YOU think" kind of comment, lol, now and then, but other than that I stick to my own brand of lunacy.

Heathen Hangout

and Pole Vault Power (http://www.polevaultpower.com/forum/)
I occasionally visit Ebla, but it's too much work to be really relaxing.
Heresy!
And as to the thread topic, I don't find I have a lot of time for boards and I tend to use it all here. But I sometimes call in at IIDB and sometimes ... less recently ... at HH. I'm not regular anywhere else but there are various boards I visit for specific needs.

While I am registered at quite a number of boards, I only post regularly on two:
here and, mainly, on The Heathen Hangout (http://www.heathenhangout.com).
I don't bother with SecWeb much at all because of a very bad signal-to-noise ratio, and an admin team that in practice plays along with that; the boring repetiveness of seeing the same old crap irrelevant to the world year in and year out is simply that, boring.
The Atheist Network and The Ethical Atheist boards are having problems of the AOL-argument type; while the BHA board is significantly better than all 3 above, its obsolescent software and lack of moderation, and resultant BHA members-only rule, tend to be self-destructive.
Every now and then I will post on the Total War (Shogun, Medieval and Rome) board, and rarely, on boards dedicated to bulletin-board software and modifications thereof.

Abdul, I love the layout of your board.. that's the sort of thing i was aiming for but I didn't know much about the different kinds so I just pulled the first thing that came off google down :). I will register there at some point when things are less hectic..

Whoa! That's a huge forum, Corona. I had never even heard of Gentoo until now. :stunned: Indeed it is. It's 3/4 of the reason I use gentoo; I can post a question and get a reply generally within days, if not hours. And unlike most linux boards the replies are generally of the form 'do this' or 'read this link' instead of 'stfu noob'.

I would be happy to provide you with a reward if you kissed liv's ass, but first I must insist on evidence of the event, preferably video tape... with some nice background music...
Other boards: II, HH, Ebla, Moose's super finland/europe thang, Armour Archive, Pennsic.net, JREF, mostly the usual. It's the same people on all the boards anyways. ;)

That's impressive. vB boards are full of that stfu noob attitude too, enough so that I've posted maybe 5 times on them. I also found gentoo's international subforums remarkable. That kind of attention to non-native English speakers is a rare and excellent thing.
And Gurdur, those are some great stats, but I was even more blown away by the 90,000 registered users.
