Diet Coke with Splenda

Yummy! It tastes so much like regular Coke that it tastes wrong without any Jack Daniels in it.

I like the new Diet Coke with Splenda. Like Ensign Steve, I think it tastes a great deal like the old Coke. Not the Classic Coke shit that came out after Coke's New Coke fuckup (BTW, I liked New Coke), the old pre-New Coke Coke, from back when they sweetened it with cane sugar not that fruity goddamn high fructose corn sweetener bullshit.

I haven't seen it up here yet. Soft drink companies test market new stuff in different places. I think we got Diet Coke with Lemon & with Lime up here before some other areas, and I know we got those fridge packs earlier than other parts of the country. We're just now getting Lime (non-diet) Coke.

I don't know when American soft drink bottlers switched from cane sugar to corn syrup, but I'm pretty sure it's because of farm subsidies. Corn is grown over most of the country, while sugarcane is mostly imported. Pop in Europe is still sweetened with cane sugar, so if you're ever over there stock up. It tastes a LOT better, IMHO. Also, corn sugar is more fattening than cane sugar because of the way it's metabolized (or maybe because it's not as sweet by weight so you have to eat more of it).

I still think Diet Mountain Dew Code Red is the best diet soft drink ever.

Well after being a regular Coke to Diet Coke convert, I've taken a liking to all the flavored Diet Cokes, particularly the Lime or Vanilla. But recently, I've been on a Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper kick.

I just recently tried the Diet Coke with Splenda, and I must say it's a bit sweet for my evolved soda taste. It actually reminds me more of Pepsi than regular Coke. Unless you're referring to the "New" Coke that was introduced and later shelved back in the 80s. Then, you just need refer back to my Pepsi comment again.
