Reaching for each other, these echoes of drowned jewels would crisscross, creating ephemeral peaks and troughs in each other’s paths, but never stopping their momentum toward some separate end, where their energy breaks as tiny waves on a far foreign shore.

I found it reading a book review, and those words and that image touched me. Maybe in time, those words will bring me my friend back too. Who knows.
