One year ago, I lost the dearest part of my life to cancer. Six months from diagnosis to death. My darling wife of eighteen years. My sweetheart. My friend. My unindicted co-conspirator. My detachable memory unit. My lover. My comedienne.
This past year and a half has been the most unhappy time in my entire life. I have never known emotional pain this crushing. But here I am, amongst the living. She's gone. Gone a year, now.
Thanks to all of you. You've helped me keep...engaged. And a lot less lonely.

I'm sorry, godfry. :( I'm very glad to have had the opportunity to keep you engaged, if only hostily at times. I have a lot of respect for your persistence and dedication to your principles, and hope you keep on keeping on.

I'm grateful you've shared your wealth of experience, from asses to sculpture gardens to true love, with us. Thank you, godfry.
Oh, and in honor of the majestic Binford, as handsome and proud a rabbit as I've ever seen, here's (http://www.syberpunk.com/cgi-bin/index.pl?page=oolong) the story of Oolong, aka pancake bunny.

I had no idea she had passed away so recently. I'm so sorry for your loss, Godfrey.
Under the Harvest Moon
Under the harvest moon,
When the soft silver
Drips shimmering
Over garden nights,
Death, the gray mocker,
Comes and whispers to you
As a beautiful friend
Who remembers.
Under the summer roses
When the flagrant crimson
Lurks in the dusk
Of the wild red leaves,
Love, with little hands,
Comes and touches you
With a thousand memories,
And asks you
Beautiful, unanswerable questions.

I'm sorry for your pain.
Here's wishing someday that you find a close measure of happiness to what you had before. All the best.

godfry,
At times like these, I become tongue-tied and don't quite know what to say. But if I may be so bold as to say....I think a portion of all of us grieves with you. It's times like this I wish we could all be there with you...for you.

:( I'm sorry, godfry.
My all-time favorite movie line:
"Get busy living, or get busy dying." --Shawshank Redemption
You've chosen to do the former. I can't imagine how difficult it must be, but at least you're trying. I know people who've given into the despair for much lesser reasons than your loss. I hope it gets easier for you.

My deepest condolences. I hope when my time comes I have someone to mourn for me as you mourn for her...the sign of a life welll lived.

I hope the upcoming year and those following it are less painful and that you continue to live as fully as you do.
