In a thread on another forum, someone asked if anyone had a year-to-year graph of US Military spending as a percentage of the annual budget. I did a quick Google search and came up with the graph at this site (http://truthandpolitics.org), and moreover it looks like a pretty ambitious little site. I encourage anyone who is interested in doing research or writing political content for a grassroots educational site to have a look around there. (Okay so I don't even really know what grassroots means but it came up a lot when I was subscribed to the Utne Reader back in the early '90's, so I figure maybe it's applicable here.)
...the Utne Reader...
Completely off topic, but I'd never heard of the Utne Reader until it mysteriously started showing up in my mailbox two months ago. I didn't realize thay'd been around that long...assumed they were something new trying to get off the ground by sending out samples.

Huh. Well I liked it a lot back then, mostly because growing up as I did and having just gotten out of the Army, it was my first real exposure to a lot of liberal perspectives. I don't remember exactly why I quit reading it. I might have thought it was a bit too liberal...
