I figured this belonged well enough in the H&G file. This is a neat little site which enables you to pull up information on the “history” of many English words. Here's how they describe it on the site: “This is a map of the wheel-ruts of modern English. Etymologies are not definitions; they're explanations of what our words meant and how they sounded 600 or 2,000 years ago." I’ve been using for quite some time and find it interesting. And I'll say it again because I never tire of saying it: that's a damn good site. Definitely a favorite of mine for aimless browsing as well as for looking up specific words. Thanks for making a thread about it, Hot Sauce. :yup:
(But don't forget the one about hot sauces. ;))
