I don't care if they have good reasons for it. I don't care I don't care I don't care. :sobbing:

Hrmph!
Right after they publish evidence that walking on cobblestones is good for your health. Rome is determined to be less healthy, I guess.

Well, they said they'll be keeping the sanpietrini in pedestrian areas, just not on the big motor traffic roads. It's still appalling for me to think of Botteghe Oscure or Viale Trastevere and all the other cobblestones drowned under a sea of asphalt, mind you, and I really, really hate that this ancient craft is dying.
I just told my father about it and he reminded me that there's a big step between idea and implementation in Roman civitas; that brought me some relief at least.

That's a shame. I wonder how the city will like when its roads are paved over with asphalt.

Um when I tried to read the rest of that article - not being a member - I got three ads for 'hot sex' and then I gave up..

Weird. Salon's ads aren't like that. Anyway, here's (http://www.guardian.co.uk/worldlatest/story/0,1280,-5165385,00.html) the exact same story from The Guardian. :)

Ah we have cobbles here in some places and they're a pain in the ass to negotiate I must say :)

I think you should check your computer for spyware. That should not have happened most likely.

Um I get the sex ads again. And if you look closely at that link, it says that if you get a 'salon pass' it's sponsered by 'hot sex handbooks' :)

I logged out and tested it and you're totally right, Moosie. That's pretty hilarious. At least the Hot Sex Handbook was written by Tracey Cox so you know it's gotta be good. :giggle:

I guess I've been living in a cave. Who is Tracey Cox?
MooseIBe
08-01-2005, 02:52 PM
well nobody special but you don't think 'Cox' is a splendid name for the author of a sex guide?
Evidently, our minds are much more in the gutter than yours ;)

It could well be true -- Rome is constantly running the gauntlet between modern convenience and historical preservation. I doubt it's anything like the number one reason, though. That's money for sure.
(You're so sweet to post here and on topic, no less, bey. :thankee: )
