View Full Version : Smilie Love, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Emoticon

So I've kinda snuck in a few more smilies over the past couple of weeks. Kinda like 50. Give or take. Okay, just give.

Anyway, I've been reticent to post about them because I care for pz's sanity (http://pharyngula.org/index/weblog/comments/freethought_forum/) and because I'm really very ashamed at this bizarre compulsion I've developed to pan for gold in the smilie Yukons of the web.

But all that's changed now, because vm has hooked us up with the money disable smilie user option (http://www.freethought-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5800#post5800) hack and JoeP and vm are going to hook us up with the ultramoney smilie search (http://www.freethought-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5791#post5791) hack, so I figure I can pretty much wallow in my crapulence all the livelong day.

Ladies and gentlemen of the FF, without further ado, meet the latest additions to the best smilie collection in the damn world:

For a closing thought, I leave you with this:
I often think there should exist a special typographical sign for a smile—some sort of concave mark, a supine round bracket, which I would now like to trace in reply to your question.

Heh!
Until I looked them up, I thought the combination of these two was a single smilie where the little girl smilie had a fantasy guy smilie who decided to blow her off as soon as she caused him to appear:
:innocent2: :poof!:

In which case, I was thinking it was sorta kinda sad. :deepsigh:

You know, I totally said to myself that I should make an effort to fix the orders of things, but in the end, I just took care of two extrememly unadvantageous positionings and clicked submit.

See, this is why one is anal.

Yay! Glomping icon!

Thats such a nice word. I just googled it and was disappointed to discover it didn't mean anal sex from a flying start, but its a nice, expressive word, anyway.

Of course, back in the day, an ever-young and naive river hobbit found joy in the many uses of such precious shiney, smiley things. (http://www.iidb.org/vbb/showthread.php?t=48129&highlight=ronin)

Many ages ago...so, so many ages ago.

I was under the thrall of the Dark Master (http://www.iidb.org/vbb/showthread.php?s=&postid=385210#post385210) in those days. Free your mind, Ronin.

You don't need bookmarks here; I have made them obsolete. And skills can be relearned.

Speaking of speaking in Italian, no Hannibal Lecter in Celebrity Impersonators?

You ask a lot don't you, Joe? Why don't you turn that high-powered perception at Celebrity Impersonators and tell us what you see. Or, maybe you're afraid to.
