Okay, so far we've got Goliath offering to host (and looking around shiftily for reasons best left unexplored), vm sunbathing outside entirely by himself, pesci rallying the cuddle troops for a good old fashioned Conga line, and freemonkey in her pjs fondling us all.

What unholy madness is this?

You throw the best parties, AspenMama.

I'm here. In pyjamas. Warm, dark blue ones. I'm lounging near (but not too near) one of the laps. Cuddle me.

What kind of movies do you have? Sleepless in Seattle, Forbidden Planet or Lord of the Rings?

Chocolate chip cookies are warm.Is this a specific assertion? If so, I'm munching one every few minutes. Or a generic one, like "monkeys are funny"?

You start to feel relaxed and giggly. That was not an ordinary chocolate chip cookie.

Yes, I've been told so! Just ask a few Colorado Infidels.... ;)

I'm here. In pyjamas. Warm, dark blue ones. I'm lounging near (but not too near) one of the laps. Cuddle me.
Flannel jammies? I haven't decided if I'm in my silk jammies or my favorite old jeans with a few holes worn through, a white v-neck t-shirt and slippers. Sort of like jammies as I really shouldn't wear them outside of the house. Consider yourself cuddled.
What kind of movies do you have? Sleepless in Seattle, Forbidden Planet or Lord of the Rings?
Yes, of course I've got those including the extended version of LOTR. Also, I've got The Princess Bride, all Terminator movies, Romancing the Stone, Planet of the Apes and many others.
Chocolate chip cookies are warm.Is this a specific assertion? If so, I'm munching one every few minutes. Or a generic one, like "monkeys are funny"?
I'll go with specific.

> Eat chocolate chip cookie
You start to feel relaxed and giggly. That was not an ordinary chocolate chip cookie.
No it wasn't ordinary-- it was made by infidel hands pounding out dough made with organic flour, dark chocolate chunks, eggs from cage-free chickens and lots of shuga' Nothing nefarious though, I assure you. Stay a while, and I'll bring out some wine...

Thanks, pesci and JoeP. Overall, I'm feeling somewhat better today...I lost the nausea and the feeling that my brain is sloshing around in my skull whenever I move my head. However, in exchange, my throat is more swollen (it's kinda hard to swallow stuff), and my head feels like a zit that's about to burst.

I'd go see a doctor, but my health insurance doesn't kick in until the 16th. :(

Hey everyone!

Thanks for the well-wishes. I'm feeling a lot better today, except now I can barely talk..apparently the phlegm has now gone from my throat to clogging up my voice box. Also, my throat has gone from hurting and being extremely swollen to hurting only when I try to swallow.

Oh well, at least this is happening now instead of during the school week.

In the meantime, I'll just suck away at some throat lozenges...

Even the :sheepshag:?

I am disappointed by the sheer niceness and desirability of the definition of glomping (all sources insist it's non-sexual ... though normally directed at the sex you're attracted to), but I'm impressed that it's a pretty well-defined and stable word. Except for the last 3 defns (which are rated many thumbs-down) urbandictionary.com (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=glomp&r=f) contributors are consistent in what it means.
NOT sexual, it is the action of one person lovingly (and dramatically) attacking another with a hug.
A glomp is often preadatory and lies somewhere in the grey area between a caring embrace, and a flying leap to tackle someone.
The term is used extesively in anime culture, as well as online in text form (anime because many anime characters do this often, and online because it is short and descriptive).
I found some anime sites which also claim it's an anime-culture word (with the same meaning).

Stop it, guys. I am going to be stuck with a vision of a bumper sticker:Glomp for Jesus!

* Bursts in wearing a puce coloured panda bear costume and glomps everyone in the room
Ouch! Be a little more gentle next time. Sheesh. At least use some vaseline. :seestars:

That would take all the joy out of it! What's a glomping without a few squeals? ;)

"Squeals"?..were those squeals or moans?

Ah, glomping with a mission. Ulterior glomping. Glomping for cookies.
I have been misrepresented here. I glomped for the joy of glomping, and only noticed at the last second that she was carrying these cookies.

Liv, you're superglomped. Just accept it. Feel the love. It's not just a tackle, it's a scrum, and the ref's not going to let you out.

Why, Joe... You're trying to seduce me! And at a cuddle party too. Shame on you, young man.

By the way, no multiple-glomping smilie in Ah, L'Amour? Wth category is glomp in anyway? You have a 100% success rate on my suggestions so far. We need this one. You can tell I'm serious when I use the Impact font.

Impact font or no, I refuse to upload a multiple glomp on the grounds that Farren will use it for ill. Very, very ill.

However, out of consideration for AspenMama, I have uploaded a :cuddle: to counter the recent surfeit of glomping and return this thread to its original meaning. Just call me the Scalia of smilies.

multi-glomping?

If not, how does one distinguish between "multi-glomping" and the two scenes above?

Is what we're looking for a writhing pit, or pile, of smilie faces? That's worse than snakes, man...

That's glomping, godfry, and I don't think either of the party smilies qualify cause everyone's just jumping next to each other instead of onto each other.

OMIGOD, I was just looking for my grandma's snickerdoodle recipe today. Before that, I can't remember the last time I even thought the word "snickerdoodle." FREAKY!

Ah yes, Starbucks. I occasionally forget that there's a whole world outside this house. I used to go to Starbucks often when I lived in Chicago and worked in the Loop. I usually prefer to go to independent cafe's when they're available, though, or make coffee at home when I'm broke and unemployed. :yup:

I thought snickerdoodles were those warm and smelly bundles that the dog leaves on the lawn. Ah well, you learn something new everyday.

Strange...I've never heard of snickerdoodles before, and I've lived in the midwest all my life (albeit only the upper midwest...maybe that's why I've never heard of them).

Anyways, after seeing the name "snickerdoodle" and before knowing what a snickerdoodle was, I kept envisioning some kind of baked treat that uses Snickers bars in its recipie.

I've made (and eaten) many dozens of chocolate chip and sugar cookies in the months since, though. I think it's probably high time I tried to make some snickerdoodles.
