I haven't heard you say much for awhile.

Oh, gosh, I missed this thread!
I haven't really been up to anything much lately. I'm back at university now, preparing for the third year of my physics degree.
I have to pick a project for my 'labs' and I'm torn between baby black holes and the evolution of dark matter in galaxies. I'm sure I'll decide which to put down as my first choice before the deadline.
I'm unpacking my stuff, slowly. Very slowly. And my hunt for guitar strings yesterday was a failure; my favourite types were both out of stock!
That's it really. Oh, I should be getting some new books soon for my new year. Always fun! :)

Oh yes, getting the new books every semester was one of my favorite things. It's like virtuous gluttony.
As for your labs project, I say go with the evolution of dark matter. Baby black holes sounds too much like baby back ribs. :giggle:
Baby black holes sounds too much like baby back ribs. That is a pathetic reason, ma'am. And they don't sound much alike anyway.
A better reason is that baby things should be fluffy and cute, but black holes have no hair (http://archive.ncsa.uiuc.edu/Cyberia/NumRel/BlackHoleEvolution.html), so baby black holes are an affront.
Also, you can't comb a hairy ball (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hairy_ball_theorem), but I couldn't work that into any kind of reason.
