Since it's my belief that addiction to internet porn and RPGs amongst some of our teenage males here has skewed their attitudes toward women, I thought, as a public service, I'd reproduce some dating advice apparently culled from a discussion board devoted to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which is in turn reproduced in this month's Harper's magazine:

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. Can I just ignore a girl after I get to 100% with her?
A. For the most part, yes. Your relationship can still go down if you miss a phone call from a girl or answer a call and then don't take her out on a date. But this is still a small decrease (-2%) and doesn't happen all that often.

Q. I killed one of the girls. Is there any way to get her back?
A. If you kill a girl before you start going out with her, she does seem to come back to life and continue appearing normally. If you were going out with the girl and you killed her during the date, then I don't know of any way to get her back. Nothing that I've tried has worked. I would guess that the only way would be to go back to where you first met her and hope that she appears again.

The entire excerpt is actually pretty funny, but sad in a way, depending on your perspective of course.

One more little bit:

All of the girls can take quite a few hits, including multiple head shots from various weapons. But they can die, and if you kill a girl, she will no longer be your girlfriend.

I've been wondering where the ODB got his newfound smoovosity.

I mean, I'm a little mad that he's cheating on me with those GTA skanks, but as long as he doesn't accidentally call me by their names or anything, I guess I can ignore that aspect.

Or show up for a date in the gimp suit.

Now that's funny. I don't care who you are, that's funny.

In a sad, pathetic way, of course.

Wonderful, but incorrect, jab; asshole. I'm neither a teen(correct age is 20+) nor addicted to porn(I look perhaps once every few weeks). And the last RPG I ever played was Mario RPG on the SNES in 1996. I also don't have a chauvinist attitude toward women. Kindly keep your ad hom attacks, especially when they're wholly unfounded, to yourself, mmmkay?

If the OP doesn't apply to you, then why react with such vitriol unless your conscience has been pricked by what Scarlatti said? Truth hurts, mmmkay?

scarletpeaches, it is my experience that perceived slander hurts to a higher degree than truth. And SkepticJ seems to be unworthy of D. Scarlatti's ridicule. That is probably because it was directed at me, not him.

Nonsense, the OP was obviously directed at me.

And dammit, are you saying Tifa was not a typical woman?!

Because he said males. ApostateAbe, also not even a teen, is one individual; so where does the "s" come from?
No, half-assed, totally false personal attacks against myself at my expense for someone else's humor is irritating. It'd be one thing if he were joking about it; but it'd still be unfunny, at least to me, because it's baseless. Attacks on people are only funny if there's, at the least, a grain of truth to what is being lampooned. A play off of Sean Connery's role as James Bond, the look of Michael Jackson, or the hair of Richard Simmons for example.

Welcome to reality, it hurts. However, you can find such women in reality, they just lack the huge eyes and flawless skin. Sorry. :pat:
