Perhaps I'm biased by my own interest, but there seems to be a fairly large contingent of people here who are interested in computer-related discussions. As such I would like to propose making a Computing forum independent of the Sciences forum. It's my thinking that this might stimulate discussion in both forums, since right now computing discussions pretty much dominate the Sciences forum.
Then again we don't want to start a new forum if it's not gonna get any use, so I'd like to know how many of you (particularly the computer people) think it would be useful and whether you think you'd be very active in it.
Thoughts?

I don't really know much about computers beyond the basics of maintaining my own, and the use of the programs I employ regularly. But I would probably read the forum, the parts of it that interested me and weren't overly technical, anyway.
What do you have in mind? Programming? Internet security? Software? Hardware? Web design?

Although I would be highly unlikely to contribute to any programming discussions (mainly on account of my palpable ignorance), discussions about computer technology and the internet definitely interest me. In fact, when we were first designing the forum structure here, I wanted an internet or technology forum, but I couldn't really see where it fit and didn't want to pack the board with every forum I could think of just to gather dust.
Now that the geeks have made their presence felt, I realize there are lots of different interests a computing forum would cover, including freemonkey's list as well as the more sociological aspects that I appreciate.
IOW, knee-jerk protestations to the contrary, I'd definitely post in a computing forum. :)

Wait, I have to work Microsoft into this somehow.

I say go for it.
There would always be enough double entendre and innuendo to keep me interested.

100% Yes. It seems odd posting computer stuff under "science"

As long as I can continue to post my opinions without backing them up with any valid reasoning or facts, I'm all for a computing forum!
Come to think of it, you can take that as my input regarding the formation of new forums of any subject ...
