:fuming: Looking for a place in which to hide from all the threadwankery that's been going on lately? Want to discuss something interesting but pointless, like "Why is abbreviation such a long word?" or "What is the sound of one bollock slapping against a prostitute's chin?" or "If a drunk man falls down in the middle of the forest and there's no-one around to hear him vomit, does he still piss his pants?"
Well you've come to the right place!
No serious discussion here, no sir! And what's that you say? Bully-boy tactics, insults, trollery? Not a chance! :fuming:

Oh man, now I have to see if that song is already in my iTunes so I can listen to it Right Now! (I'm pretty sure it is, tho. :wriggle: )
ETA: It is! :hyper:

Excuse me, this is the Prodigy appreciation thread. Detractors will be skull-fucked to death, of course.

Well, it isn't intentionally a Prodigy thread. Just a place to get away from all the heavy, insulting, trollery threads elsewhere...but SOMEONE had to mention skullfuckery, didn't they?!

Prodigy used to be great back when there wasn't anything worth comparing it to.

I just like that there are multiple competing explanations of why "Smack my bitch up" doesn't promote violence against women.

Isn't it obvious that he is referring to disciplining his dog? :beagle:

My favorite is, "It's just a fucking song. Get over it."

In my early 20's I knew a lot of hardcore feminists who were fans of overtly misogynistic musicians. As far as I could tell the reasoning goes something like "It's okay if it's art and/or has a good beat". That said, I'm opposed to violence against women but I really like the Prodigy song.

I never thought it meant anything; I thought it was just a sample.

Doesn't it have to have been previously recorded to be a sample?
