View Full Version : Decent into the mundane: bathroom cleansers

I've got a minor bathroom cleaning issue which is annoying me.
I have an enclosed shower in my upstairs bathroom. It's tile and glass in a chrome frame. The wall facing into the room is 3/4 glass. It was installed three years ago and is now showing signs of some kind of "build-up" or accretion on the inside of the glass where the water has dried repeatedly. I have tried Windex, Soft Scrub and Lime-Away. None has worked. There is no removal of the discoloration on the glass.
Anybody know a handy cleaner to keep glass clean?
I suppose I could call our installer and ask them, but I thought I'd ask here first.

you could try Kaboom. I got it in the bathroom cleaning section at Safeway. Its in a purple spray bottle. It may take a couple sessions if the gunk has been there awhile.

Ha! I went off to see the bottle of the stuff I have now and it's freemonkey's Kaboom. It works on the soap scum on the fiberglass, tile and metal fixtures of the shower, too. I bought it at Lowe's hardware store in the cleaning section.
This is the first time I've used Kaboom because I usually use something else that works great, too. But I can't remember the name of it. Lime Away has done well on the mineral deposits, though.
Oh yeah, and then, once it's clean, I hear the hot ticket for keeping it that way is to use a squeegee after every shower.
Please forgive my comment on the typo in the title -- I know you meant descent, but I sometimes love what typos cause me to think of and I thank you for this one.

Ho!... I could claim that I meant it to be that way. It was a witticism...but I'd be lying. Wish I'd seen it. Thanks for pointing it out. I rather like it that way.... :D

I just don't like "ask" being pronounced as "ax". Ax is a sharp cutting tool.
I mean, one of the Pacific NW jokes, is "Idaho, Idaho, it's always Idaho... This time, you gonna be da ho!"
Actually, I think "Ho!" is a muleskinner term, too. I think "Gee!" and "Ha!" are left and right. "Ho!" might be the same as "Whoa!"
