Well... 9:30 this morning my time (PDT), the planet upon which we live orbited to a point where the apparent position of the sun crossed from northern hemisphere into the southern hemisphere. It's autumn here.

It's the equinox. Autumnal in the northern hemisphere, vernal in the southern hemisphere.

I trust everybody demonstrated for equal nights? :saywhat:

It's spring down under. :groucho: We can surmise what that means.... Down, Farren.

I hope you'll all raise a glass :gnoshing: (filled with your favorite beverage) :vin: with me in celebration of this passage of a marker in time.:friday:

I guess pride is gone now....

Salut!

Am I the only sober poster in this thread? Off to J20 (http://www.freethought-forum.com/forum/arcade.php?do=play&gameid=42), the lot of you. Oh, and Happy Equinox. (Vernal is a cool word.)

Happy pagan equinox, everyone. Spring is sprung, the wisteria's out, the jasmine's been a riot for a while, days are warming. Still hardly any rain so the grass is brown (I've seen a veld (grass) fire even in the last couple of days).

I should have given y'all a heads-up a few days in advance, but it's been quite cool watching the day-night boundary on the SunClock screen saver (http://www.mapmaker.com/sunclock.asp) become more and more vertical and suddenly flip as day reaches the north pole.
