She's at the farm at the moment. I can see her playing in the arcade on my mothers laptop.
Anyway, her school report:  :D
The comments by her teacher, for March and September, respectively -
Zoe is a pleasant young lady who is coming to grips with the demands of life at *****. She is beginning to take greater responsibility for learning and is managing her time more effectively so that tasks are completed by their due date.
It has been pleasing to see Zoe acting on feedback given which has seen the standard of her work improve. I have no doubt that if Zoe continues to address these areas of her learning we will see her fully utilize her potential.
I have been very pleased with the progress Zoe has made throughout the year. She is using her time more effectively and has come to grips with the expectations of students at *****. Zoe is working more effectively during independent study. Zoe is approaching new tasks enthusiastically and is seeing them through to their conclusion with greater consistency. Zoe's polite and caring nature have earnt her the respect of both her peers and staff.
Heh.
/me basks in reflected glory.
I earned $160 on Monday and Tuesday nights cataloguing pics of the Amsterdam Marathon (www.global-pix.com). So I think I'll get Zoe a new walkman. :yup: :D
Actually, unless she specifically requests a new one, I'll get us a new video player. She loves movies too, and that is something we can do together.
But I'll let her choose.
Heh. My girl.

That's great lunachick, congrats. :)
I don't know why there had to be so much swearing in those statements, though. It's really bad when you have to censor school reports. :no2:

If I say what farren said do I get glomped as well???
seriously, I am glad your daughter is doing well. Parental pride rocks.
Although I only know what its like to have uncle (adverb form as I dont know) pride for my nephew when he keeps his shit together.
It really is obvious where she, Zoe, gets her "caring nature" from.

If I were to make a sweeping cultural generalisation, I would have to say that you represent all I despise about America and it's stupid "dream".
Yeah, real cuddly. :rockingout:

And thanks, beyelzu. 'Tis glowing pride indeed. My kid rocks, as I'm sure your nephew does to. :yup:

  well the cool thing about boards is a person can see another person's interactions with other people and form a more well rounded opinion of that person. and I have been reading your posts for over about a year now.

Zoe's not all peaches and cream, either, and can have some brief bursts of hot temper. Nothing to do with me, of course.

Those are really wonderful comments from her teachers, luna. Not only is she sweet and smart and a kickass arcader, but she absorbs knowledge like a little Kiwi sponge. Congratulations to you both. :grouphug:

Congrats Lunachick,
I have two daughters. It is a wonderful feeling when you get to see them becoming successful and accomplished. For me it was nice to know I wasn't completely screwing up at the parenting thing.
I have to brag about my daughter. I jus' gotta.
I was convinced this was going to be about some new astronomical high scores in the arcade. But this is serious. Congrats to her; and for you, I know the pleasure of getting a good report and especially those points about being mature and following guidance.

Check out the OneLook Reverse Dictionary (http://www.onelook.com/reverse-dictionary.shtml): enter "like uncle" and avuncular pops forth as the first hit.

Forgive me Lunachick for saying "trust me". Don't know what came over me. Tis a term I never use as it reminds me of something sleazzy used car salesman would say.

No offense taken, and I do trust you. :)
She could well grow up to become someone like you. Oh, Christ! I hope not!
Thanks for the comments, everyone. It is very cool to watch the kids grow and develop their characters. Especially good when they have such a lovely nature as well - like my Zoe girl. :D
