Same deal as buried alive, except you awoke just after being shoved in the cremator. There is a little window in those things so the technician can see, uh, how things are "going". Just as he is about to activate the burners, you wake up. You look at him in the window - you get eye contact. He thinks "Dammit - I got that big date tonight! If I call the authorities, he'll just croak before they get here anyway! Paperwork! Questions! They'll probably say I did something wrong! No way! He turns on the burners ... you try to scream, but one jet is headed straight to your face. You try to stop one burner with your hand - the flesh liquifies and falls off. You endure for 30 seconds the worst pain - way beyond what is imaginable.

Sort of like being you, except with the finality of death.

Um no, you feel virtually no pain whatsoever.
Super hot flames or objects destroy nerve endings and other parts of the nervous system. Lacking nerves to recieve or relay pain means very little pain.

Yeah I don't think you'd last 30 seconds in a crematorium either.

I'll bring the marshmallows and the toasting fork.

Funny, I was always under the impression that cremation was done a little differently - but thanks to Google it appears that I was wrong. It's just flames all the way down. I don't know how I thought it was done, I just thought it was done differently. If that made any sense at all.
