It's a book (http://www.alternet.org/election04/19975/) by Ron Reagan, a compilation of celebrity appeals to GWB. The ones Alternet exerpted are pretty cool: I had no idea marijuana could make such a difference for an MS patient until I read Montel William's five minutes and damn, Minnie Driver sure has her shit together when it comes to international trade. Who knew?

I really liked Minnie Driver's entry - and thanks for the link!

My pleasure, Lady. Were you at all disappointed by Janeane Garofalo's? I didn't find it all that funny or hard-hitting; I expected better.

It read like it needed editing, BADLY. Maybe it would have been funnier if she'd done it in person...I can't tell.
But it's still more coherent than the shrieking and snarling I'd do if I had five minutes with the Shrub. LOL

You and me both, sister. The word spittle-flecked leaps instantly to mind.

At the risk of inviting investigatory scrutiny, if I had five minutes with the p-resident, ...
Uh, nevermind, people have been jailed for stating less than what I was thinking.
Hopefully he would come out of our meeting slightly smarter, even if I risk being turned into a drooling idiot in a mere 300 seconds... OK, more of a drooling idiot than I already am.

I'm trying not to use the ass...ass... word
...in ...ate. Him.
And Minnie Driver does indeed rule.
There is vicious global bullying going on, by transnational corporations, by the World Bank, and by the International Monetary Fund. Our countries keep their markets closed (remember: Trade rules are rigged!) while poor countries are strongarmed into opening theirs at breakneck speed, often with damaging consequences to their communities.
Yup. I've tried arguing this kind of thing at II, but I'm hopelessly inadequate at it.
Go Minnie!
