My own collection is sparse:

Invader Zim (vol. 1-3)
Black Adder
Thin Blue Line

So list 'em off! What have you got?

oooo... Black Adder. I'm jealous.

I don't own any personally, but my roomate owns a couple seasons of Buffy.

Season 1 of 24, the only season worth owning in my opinion. I might pick up season 2, but season 3 blew big chunks.

I have season 2 of Babylon 5 and eventually I'd like to own the whole thing, or at least seasons 2,3, and 4. Season 1 has episodes that are important to the story arc but also some really lame ones. Season 5 has the rushed feel of a series that was canceled and then picked up by SciFi at the last minute, plus they dropped my favorite character.

Eventually I'll buy some Tom Baker- and Peter Davison-era Doctor Who. I enjoy watching the Sopranos on DVD but have no desire to own the series. I might spring for Band of Brothers.

oooo... Black Adder. I'm jealous. Me too. I want Red Dwarf too.

Someone gave me a couple DVDs of Andy Griffith shows last Xmas (I asked for Green Acres), including one that is Best of Barney Fife. My wife has Friends Season 1. And, we have all four of the Sarah, Plain and Tall series. That's it. We don't have too awful many movies either. I like renting them, but owning I reserve for the select few that I consider classics.

Stargate 1-6
Invader Zim 1-3
Simpson's 1-4
Family Guy 1-3
Futurama (1-3 I think?)
Scooby Doo 1-2
Original unedited special edition laser disc's of the Star Wars trilogy. (sorry, not a TV series :) )
Ren and Stimpy (laser disc)
Monk
Spawn 1-2
24 1-2 (although I would have to buy them again, I loaned them to somebody I don't talk to anymore)
Black Adder
Red Dwarf (1-4)
South Park (on video tape, several seasons)

Can't think of any more. I might have more. Who knows, I buy stuff just for collecing it sometimes.

Babylon 5 is one of the few series I think has a strong enough story arc to cause me to want it on DVD. Eventually I will get all the seasons, though I wouldn't argue with your assessment of each, Godless Dave.

I think the last few years of DS9 also had a solid epic storyline, but I'm not that interested.

I did buy the entire Monty Python tv series on DVD last year. Mostly because it was selling for 60% off on a very short lived Internet deal. I bought two sets of it (gave one to a friend). I wish I had gotten more -- they would have made great gifts at the price I paid.

What am I thinking!

Bullshit! Seasons 1 AND 2 on DVD (because I made my own)
Some of the Monty Python series

Okay, I'll stop now.

Actually, I think StarGate SG1 has a pretty good story arc, predictable at times, but they always make fun of themselves, which is what I really like about the series.

I have about 30 episodes of black and white Perry Mason on VHS. I love Perry Mason. Of course, our only VCR is in my dorm tv in the jungle room, so I don't get to watch them very often anymore.

Of course, the Hallmark Channel shows Perry Mason during the day. Woohoo!

most of the DVD releases of the first four Doctors Who
Slayers (anime)
Cowboy Bebop (anime)

The Family Guy, Invader Zim, The Critic, and all 98 episodes of the original Transformers series (one of the few good things that I remember about my childhood).

I'm also slowly working on getting around to adding The Simpsons (at least as many seasons as are out on DVD), Futurama, and Star Trek: The Next Generation to that list.

Futurama
Oops, forgot to mention that I have the first season of Futurama as well, and plan to get the other discs in the near future. (next 1000 years or so. )

all 98 episodes of the original [i]Transformers series

:buggin: Daaaaamn... How did you score those?

Dlanod
09-24-2004, 11:11 PM
The Monkees (both seasons)
The Prisoner
The Dick Van Dyke Show (all 5 seasons)
UFO (the live-action Gerry Anderson series - both seasons)
Monty Python (all volumes)
The Red Skelton Show (oddball collections of episodes)
Sherlock Holmes (the Jeremy Brett series)

I'll probably get some of the Star Trek: TOS, TNG and Voyager sets when I can find them cheap. I've also been thinking about getting some of the Avengers, Stargate SG-1, The Saint, I, Spy and Hullabaloo sets.

Too many shows, too little time.

[i]all 98 episodes of the original Transformers series

:buggin: Daaaaamn... How did you score those?

Funny you should ask...one day, while strolling along a long and lonesome road (http://www.rhino.com/store/ProductDetail.lasso?Number=976039), I came across an angry midget (http://www.rhino.com/store/ProductDetail.lasso?Number=976046). I asked the midget "why are you so angry, midget?", but the midget snarled and leapt at me, trying to bite me in the nuts! (http://www.rhino.com/store/ProductDetail.lasso?Number=976045) I reacted quickly, and punched the angry midget, sending him spiraling into the ground. Before he could get up, I lifted my boot and crushed his skull (http://www.rhino.com/store/ProductDetail.lasso?Number=976054). As the midget lay there, twitching posthumously, I saw that he had a small backpack (http://www.rhino.com/store/ProductDetail.lasso?Number=976053) strapped onto his back. I opened it, and found the Transformers DVDs!

It's all true, I swear! :yup: :D :P

Whoa! That midget's got Kimba too! Let me kick him in the ribs to stop the twitching.

Star Trek: The Next Generation - all 7 seasons
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - all 7 seasons
Futurama - Season 4*
Dilbert - all 1 season
Sealab 2021 - Season 1**
Family Guy - all 3 seasons***
South Park - the first 1 or 3 seasons ... on VHS (ph34r the sequential, analog medium!)

* I actually bought it for my husband, who already has seasons 1-3, I'm just 'holding' it for him right now.
** A friend just gave it to me because he said it wasn't as good as the later seasons. I haven't watched it yet.
*** They are on vacation in Las Vegas for an undetermined amount of time, but they demand to be watched, damnit!

My problem is I don't like owning a portion of a series unless I can own the entire thing, so I generally only purchase shows that have been cancelled so I can get all of them up front.

I'm a poor, poor girl - monetarily speaking.

To those individuals who A) own the Family Guy, South Park, and especially the Sherlock Holmes starring Jeremy Brett series and B) have a DVD burner - could we work something out???

Gilmore girls : season 1

Yes. Some people really do speak as quickly as they do in that series. Namely, me and my best friend. See scores of horified/amused store clerks who have witnessed the phenomenom.

Buffy: Season 6

Got that specifically, so I could own, "once more, with feeling." I love a musical that doesn't take itself seriously. I mean, with lines like "I think this line's mostly filler" what's not to like? Or "It's getting eerie, what's this cheery singing all about?"

Umm, I think I own some anime, but those were christmas gifts. I already gave away Hellsing. I think I still own Beserk.

Oooh. Zim 3 is out? I have GOT to get someone to actually pay me. (As of this writing, I just made 6 months even without being paid once; last time I got paid was April 2nd.)

Cowboy Bebop
Neon Genesis Evangelion (on VHS. Hehehehehe)
Lain (hehehe, twil FUCK YOU UP)

Non-anime
Jazz

And after Christmas I intend to have Spooks series 1 in my hot little hands. Mmmm Spooks.

I'd buy The Sopranos, but they're not as good anymore as they used to be. Too much whacking, not enough psychiatrist issues.

We've also got some Cowboy Bebop (not enough), Neon Genesis Evangelion, and the marvellously funny Space Ghost. God, they need to come out with more of that.

I haven't got Lain, but our friend Pat does and I've seen it. That's a mind-fuck and a half, for sure.

Invader Zim (vol. 1-3)
Black Adder
Thin Blue Line

How the hell did you get Zim 3? All the stores I've been to say it's not out until tomorrow.

Anyway.

Zim 1-2
ATHF 1-2
SCTV 1
Simpsons 1-4
Futurama 1-4
Buffy 1-? (my wife's, I don't track it)
Babylon5 1
Rocky & Bullwinkle 1
South Park 1
Complete Python

Collections which aren't series:
Muppet Show 10-DVD set
Looney Toons "Golden Collection"

A while back, we realized we'd rather spend $20-30 a month on DVDs than spend it on a satellite TV feed.

My husband bought the ones we have, but I watch them too.

We've had these complete sets for a while -
Black Adder
Fawlty Towers
Monty Python
Mr Bean

After our trip to England in August, he also bought complete sets of
The Young Ones
Bottom

I bought it off eBay. I didn't know it wasn't "out" until after I got it. Strange, the way that worked out. Anyway, it's got the Jesus Santa Claus episode on it :).
