where have you been? what have you been up to? who the hell are you? I know these are the questions that have plagued you for the weeks and months I have been absent from this board, the boards, any board. How the hell is JD doing in tech school, you wonder. Well wonder no longer. I give you my resume, enhanced with lame jokes and sarcasm:
Before I got my clearance, I worked as a 'casual' in the fire school (the firefighters train here as well as intel), and somebody let slip that I know Access. So I was volunteered to build a database for the Chief of the fire academy and I earned the Superintendent's Coin for that.
I got my 'interim' clearance and began class on july 7. I am a little over halfway through, with a grad date of november 24, which puts me home for one, if not all, of the holidays. YAY! School is great and fun and challenging, and I have the highest average in my class. I can't wait for it to be the hell over.
In addition to school, I enjoyed a brief stint on the squadron drill team, and we nearly swept the base drill competition in August, winning 3 out of 4 trophies. I scored the Commander's Coin for my participation in that, and there are pictures from that event here. (http://www.ensignsteve.com/gallery/082104)
I also won a LAME award for having the most immaculate dorm room in all the squadron for the month of august. It is to LAFF!
Round about that time, I decided I was exhausted and I was putting way too much effort into getting a bunch of awards and trinkets that would not follow me the rest of my career, and I pretty much checked out. Nobody seemed to notice, though, because last week I was nominated for Student of the Month for September. I placed 5th out of 9, so I'm apparently pretty median as far as overachievers go.
All of this crap did pay off a little, though, because I earned early phase IV (for those who are familiar with any phase program) which means I can now go as far as Dallas and bug Tom anytime I want, except my car is broken so I'm not gonna.
xoxo
