(as an introduction, here is something i wrote in a forum the other day. i have a real fascination for ants and other creatures that live in perfect harmony. did you know that an ant actually lives its life for itself. it contributes to the whole because its whats best for it. thats why the other ants do it. they are great followers of the golden rule. anyhow, this is how my head thinks...)
what if an ant was suddenly cursed with awareness and began to look outside itself for answers? like us, its world would eventually collapse. it only starts with one person and thats 'god'. soon the whole colony is in disarray and everybody is looking outside themselves to answer why they are here. awareness is a double-edged sword. it is duality.
what if that ant decided that great answers and a path back to the calm before some god was aware it was god, lay in the things that swirled all around it? what is a foot to an ant? what is a skyscraper? the world is immensely bigger for an ant. its seen through eyes that are wired differently and interpreted by a foreign form of thinking. what does it see?
if it decided that the great moving shadows were gods passing judgment, would they be wrong? if they stared at what rushes by through a drop of dew, would they be right in believing everything was upside down? of course they would. what if they saw the little boy with a magnifying glass as a cosmic beast of beige and blues and a deadly ray of light- would they be wrong?
and the everything that is out there and the questions that go with it, will just gobble up souls in a return jouney to find itself. and the ants would fear death and they would hide their middens, and then themselves. they would shrivel up and die, waiting for the harsh ray of god and the smell of strawberries. waiting to die, alone and afraid with a purpose poured out.
when the ants go, we all go with them...
