Whoa...that's one unhappy banana.

So, what's with the little Hitler with the Godwin sign? What's Godwin?

My evil twin?

Wow, I'm surprised you haven't heard of Godwin's Law (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin%27s_Law):

As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one.

Well, I am a geezer. And a local recruiter for the Lead Pencil Society.... But I learned something today. Thanks, vm. Now I know.

Oh sorry, I didn't mean to patronize you. I just thought someone with your level of experience in online debates would've surely heard it by now. Especially having done a fair share of arguing at IIDB. :)

Oh, I don't feel patronized. It's just that most of the debates I became embroiled in rarely had the opportunity to insert either Nazi or Hitler. Just as well, I suppose.

:bhello: to some smilies new and not so new!

Especially, :hisign: :luna:. Don't you have some friends you'd like to invite along?

:hannibal: (sorry, he always turns up)

Who's got a birthday soon? :birthday:

Hungry? :sammich: :torte: :cherries:
Partying? :cincin:
Need some cuteness? :bagcat: :dalmation: :beagle: in addition to the existing menagerie ... :milkcat: :kitten: :catsmeow: :cat: :gatto: :kitty: :bulldog: :dogrun: :sleepingdog: :puppy2: :pup:

These three strung together in liv's post :abook: :heybabeh: :voyeur: make me wonder what :abook: is actually reading...

Liv, you've been working hard. :powerlift:

I doubted the usefulness of :broccoli:. Obviously :cherries: will come up in hundreds of posts in unexpected ways, I just can't see it yet...

Now see, I didn't know about :Cartler: until you told me. I'm beginning to think we need a 'smilies added since xx/xx/xx' feature.

Is there a smilie for "naughty boy"? :innocent:

Where do you get all these wonderful smileys?

A Google search turned up an "old school" smiley for Robocop ([(

It kinda works, but I'm surprised that there isn't a graphic one. I found one labeled Robocop, but it was definitely more Borg.

Also, once I find an outside smiley...how do I use it?

Lots of Google searching, some begging from artists and other forum owners. I've even done a couple of trades.

I know which one you're talking about. I found it inadequate as well. I did just scare up this dude, though: :robocop: He's not too bad.

Also, once I find an outside smiley...how do I use it?

Wash your mouth out with soap, young man. (You r-click on it, click on Properties and get address of it. Then pop said address between [img] tags. The problem is that you're stealing bandwidth when you do that as well slapping me in the face, and yes, I would most certainly take it personally. :hmph: )

Hells no. Sorry hon, I would if I could, but I can't. (On account of them being basically identical, you see, and that would bug me. A lot.)

Hmm... Not exactly, no. I'll see what can be done about it.

So you do have a soft side....

By the way, I'll have you know that I used to be ambivalent about smileys. Of course, that's probably because of the lack of really cool smileys at IIDB. But, now ....you've opened my eyes.

These damn things are so damned cute. So much freakin' fun. I can't stand it. I can spend hours going through the smiley library.

And that angry 'nana cracks my shit up. Just thinking about him makes me laugh.

See? I told you I was a kitten.

Forget the hug, it's :glomp2: time now.

I never used smilies at IIDB past a certain point either. My original plan for FF was just to find a really nice set of the basics, but then I decided to snag all the ones people posted in the II smilie request thread and that somehow led me to go through my old links, then the links on their links pages, then Google's links and next thing I knew, we had 900 smilies.

It's the cuteness, the way they convey even complex emotion and action in a 15 x 15 pixel frame. They quite literally charmed me into total helplessness. I had no choice, eldar, you understand now. They left me no choice.

And that angry 'nana cracks my shit up. Just thinking about him makes me laugh.

Me too! I kind of hate the basic dancing banana (although I admit I like him just fine when he's in a chorus line with the other dancing veggies), but that move combined with the birds is just priceless. :pleased:

Same here on that one, it's probably the funniest smiley ever... :angrynana:

Liv...

We have a gecko living in our kitchen atm. It wanders around the walls doing about one circuit a day.

Oh, that must be just adorable, Joe. I don't think I've ever seen a gecko actually move, nevermind do a full curcuit on the walls.

JoeP

I shall refrain from pointing out your typo, and instead ask you how you would like this: you can quite easily entice a gecko to run onto your hand - and then from hand to hand like a hamster. They feel cool and all pitter-pattery (sorry, :shakespeare: not around to suggest a better word).
