It looks a bit strange in Internet Explorer. Is it meant to look like this?

Odd. I just checked and it looks fine in IE for me (IE6 on WinXP).

I'm on IE6, WinXP also and it looks fine for me.

It's like you're looking at a negative, cep.

Does the attachment look the same to you?

That's weird, cep. Does it look normal in attachment form?

ETA: Doh! xpost with Lees.

Lees' avatar looks normal to me in Firefox. Sounds like you've got a browser on the fitz. A few months ago, the smilies stopped working for me even though they were working for other people. Then the problem went away on its own :dunno:

On a tangent, I absolutely adore your christmas version avatar, ceptimus. It's simply brilliant.

Strange, I'm also on WinXP IE6. The attachment looks fine. See screengrab below where the avatar is negative, but the attachment positive.

Have you tried restarting the computer, not just the broswer. Also try clearing the cache. The browser may have experienced some sort of a software burp that mangled Lees' avatar and the messed up image's still lingering in the cache.

That is just so bizarre. It's not even a negative, really; it's just making all the black transparent. All the other colors -- grey, red, white -- are normal.

Thanks.

I had already restarted my PC several times (the avatar's been munged for me for the last few days) and I'd tried a normal F5 refresh too.

I know I shouldn't use Internet Explorer so much, as it does suck badly, but I have to write and maintain some php pages that run on one of our works' servers. Although I write and test them initially on a Linux box, I always run IE on my Windoze machines, so that I see more-or-less the same as our other users and I can talk them through what to do when they phone in.

I did not experience that problem when viewing this site at work.
