View Full Version : Stupid Things I Did Today

4am - Lit wrong end of cigarette, almost set bed on fire.

1.30pm - Left some paper in pocket of jeans, whole load of washing covered in tiny little white bits of crap.

2.20pm - Did another load of washing, forgot to add powder.

5.55pm - Assumed local shopping centre would have extended trading hours. Rocked up five minutes before closing, will have to do Christmas shopping tomorrow.

6pm - Bought book I already own.

6.15pm - Parked at McDonalds, went in, had tea, came out, realised I'd left keys in ignition, and car was running the whole time.

7.26pm - Announced to world what an idiot I am.

Ever have one of those days?

That's quite the Stooge of a day you had going on there, Ed. Perhaps today you could poke yourself in the eye.

I only have those kind of days when I actually try to do something.

I'd say it serves me right for getting out of bed, but look what happened at 4am.

I washed widget's WALLET last week, all the credit cards, licenses, birth certificate, & about 800.00 Cash. The leather is all gummy now :giggle:

:runaway:

Quite a day you had there, big guy :sadcheer:

Ah, just seeing your sig cheers me right up, Legs.

Who carries $800 in cash? Serves him right!

I've gone swimming in the Gulf of Mexico while forgetting that my wallet is in my pocket, ruining all the contents except the cash.

The only time I ever have more than $100 in my wallet is when I'm on vacation, but I've known people in my life that carried that much and more along with several uncashed paychecks. Doesn't make sense to someone that lives from paycheck to paycheck like me.

I haven't done anything stupid yet today, but then again ... I just woke up. I am however going on a date with someone I was recently introduced to, and who I think is really cool, so it's guaranteed that I'll do something "extra special stupid" tonight.

Ed that's an awesome day man! I hear you on the book thing. A couple of weeks back I bought a CD that I realised I had burnt form a friend a couple of months previously. Stupid. Incidentally both of them got stolen when a dude threw a brick through my car-window in redfern.

I think I need a wife or something. The story of my single life can be summed up by the fact that I can spend an entire day Christmas shopping - talking with store owners, interacting with other patrons, exchanging money for goods and services - and not realise until 8:30 that night that I've had chocolate on my face since breakfast that morning. If I had a wife she could say "Darin, mate, listen in the first instance it's weird that you eat chocolate for breakfast. Secondly, if you must do that at least wipe the shit off your face before you present yourself to the rest of society."

Being single prevents me from picking up on such short-comings. To offset this, I have an extremely high tolerance to embarrassment, so I guess it all works out in the wash.

Nah, trust me, wives will let you go all day with chocolate on your face just so you look stupid.

Yeah, I'm thinking about picking me up one of those pneumatic 1950s models. I'll buy her all the weighty triangular underwear she can handle, just so long as I get my clothes washed and ironed, my lunch made, and dinner on the table when I get home. Ah, what bliss! Maybe I'll even smoke a pipe, Fred Ward-style. Probably less chance I'll set the bed on fire that way :).

Or you could try a more novel approach, such as, say, not smoke in the goddamned bed ... :whistles:

Extremely well, and as far as I can tell ... I didn't do anything "extra special stupid". Though, I suppose I'll have to ask her sometime about that ... what I consider success she may have been able to see through as a guys attempt to cover-up his awkwardness. We had dinner at a swanky "Italian" restaurant, and then went to see King Kong. Got back to my place where she parked her car (the late late movie let out around 2am, I drove) walked her to her car, and ended the night with a kiss. :woohoo: Now I'm having her over to my place for dinner tomorrow. So, hopefully things are looking up! :) Thanks for asking.

The fact that you even consider such a thing just goes to show that you and I are very different people :)

Glad to hear it went well. Now, quick, get your arse over to the Sexuality forum - there's, like, five guys there that desperately need your help. A date with a real live human female! You could become their god!

Stupid report: I always expect the be injured when attempting any sort of home repair or car repair. I lived up to it yesterday. I sliced two fingers open on the sharp as a razorblade sheet metal box of the new bathroom exhaust fan I installed, one of them must have been an artery because it just wouldn't quit bleeding until I wrapped it so tight the end of the finger started turning purple. After I finished that miserable ordeal, I commenced an attempt at electrocution. "Missed my by that much." [holds fingers about a half millimeter apart], the thickness of the rubberized coating on the handles of the needlenosed pliers, which are now missing the last centimeter or so of one side of them. The metal dissappeared in a shower of sparks. I thought the power was off when the switch was turned off. I was wrong... again.

You ARE going to have that looked at, right Warren? [/parentalmode]

And I suppose that which does not kill you makes you bitchy.

Fine, but if you lose those fingers, I'm not buying you new ones.

Fine, but if you lose those fingers, I'm not buying you new ones.Oh, Mom. [/little kid whine]

I should feel lucky, part of the job I did involved a table saw and a compound miter saw and I didn't lose any appendages.

It's genetic:

Had Christmas luch with my Nan at a restaurant today. As we were leaving, she tripped down some stairs because she got distracted by a sign which read, you guessed it, "Please mind your step".
