This (http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5478,10920838%255E663,00.html) is probably old news to some of you, but I just stumbled on it.

I read about that speech today, too. He was apparently expected to include a sentence explicitly apologizing but deleted it at the last minute.

But he still maintains that he had no way of knowing it was bogus before the invasion. Despite his then-foreign minister, Robin Cook, and the head UN weapons inspector, Hans Blix, telling him it was bogus. I wrote about this in my blog the other day and I'll write some more today after I wake up enough to be articulate.

What bothers me is the foundation it sets for future mischaracterizations leading to war...only to "oopsie daisey" it after the wretched wheels are set in motion.

I've said it before (http://www.iidb.org/vbb/showthread.php?t=59059&highlight=probable), if I had ever used such a faulty and misleading affidavit for an actionable warrant (using the proper law enforcement model) I would have been flayed in both criminal and civil courts.

That this administration has received a complete walk on this central issue has me in consuming disgust.

Oh, but Kerry looks like Herman Munster...so, let's have four more years of Bush.

:banghead:

Hey... Herman's a level-headed guy. Bonzo the chimp, on the other hand...

Well, that's what happens when we let a drunken frat boy run the country into the ditch...

Is anybody else as...disturbed about this stuff as am I?

I just can't shake the discontinuity of these disclosures....about Iraq, the Bush administration, WMD...and the untruths...which become American foreign policy, and wonder at the coverage and the underwhelming reaction of the American press. The discontinuity of what was happening five years ago, when the press was bombarding the American public with the gritty details of lust in high places and devils with a blue dress on...

What the hell gives?

We impeach a president for lying about sex and semen on a dress, but lying about something which affects lives, American lives, more each day...he stands on that record for a re-election campaign?

Has my world gone mad?

The Bush administration is illegitimate and the war it has perpetrated, against the advice of allies and the United Nations, is illegitimate. We have no democracy, but a kleptocracy.

The future of the United States is now tied to the House of Saud. I'm sure I'm not comfortable with that....

Yes.

Get this. Blair wants to award honors, including knighthoods, to the people who developed the "sexed up" WMD dossier.

Fucking outrageous (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/3730610.stm)
