Here's (http://www.freethought-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=49) the FF constitution. We've kept the rules short and sweet and the punishment for violations short but not sweet. The post ownership policy is based on my own amateurish reading of the law in combination with what seems right to us. Our privacy policy is as explicit and extensive as I could make it.

Questions? Comments? Is anything missing? Is it all a recipe for horrible, horrible disaster?

Will the admins make a practice of moving threads? For example, I just opened a thread in the Arts forum about a rather political movie, so it's quiote possible that I should have opened it in the Politics forum. If I opened it in the wrong place, I'd appreciate a move but, in my experience administering a certain other forum, I've seen people get mighty heated at a thread of theirs being moved when they though tit belonged in the forum they started it in. Is there a direction regarding thread moving?

Good question. IIRC we decided we wouldn't be moving threads. My gut feeling is that doing so would be more intrusive than we want to be but I'll wait for liv to chime in tomorrow before saying anything definitively. (Besides the likelihood that we came to some understanding that I've now forgotten is great.)

Tom's right: we did decide that we would avoid thread moving unless there was a very good reason (namely, porn outside of sexuality or at the OPs request). I don't mind having my threads moved either, but I can understand why someone who wanted a certain audience or perspective might have a problem with us moving it onto another stage.

Besides, just like with your Outfoxed thread, topic lines are frequently blurry. I really don't want to make it a practice of running around second-guessing members' judgement calls. I'm trying to move away from the helplessly anal control-freak livius, not indulge her.

There has recently been a unacceptable spate of revival of long-dead threads. :undead: This disturbs the rest of those poor threads, disrupts the normal flow of reading, and diminishes the overall thread count.

This practice must cease. :police:
