Is anyone familiar with The Independent Institute (http://www.independent.org/)?
The mission of The Independent Institute is to transcend the all-too-common politicization and superficiality of public policy research and debate, redefine the debate over public issues, and foster new and effective directions for government reform.
Claims of "independence" always make me skeptical. To me there's no such thing. Every organization is going to have some kind of political alignment, typically based on their economic alignment. Or am I just being a reductionist?
