I'll be putting a roast in the oven soon; got a good supply of Chex Mix and cookies; Bridget, Hank & Ellie went crazy over their catnip, rawhide, lasar light & squeaky toys; Independent Film Channel is showing Swingers, Ed Wood and Hedwig & The Angry Inch today. It just don't get no better 'n that!

Watching the Evil Dead 2 collector's edition. How yuley is that? :wriggle:
I watched a Z-grade movie last night. Actually I'm not sure if it was up to Z standards. Anyway, the title was Mulva, Zombie Ass Kicker and I've not laughed so hard in quite some time.

Have opened presents. Have scoffed the roast, with stuffing potatoes sausages roast garlic bread sauce and veg. That was the good part (although the champagne plus the wine might have got to me a bit!).
I broke three glasses full of trifle. Two of them before the alcohol. My daughter made the trifle and wanted it served in big (8" tall) wine glasses. They had to go in the fridge. Main fridge full, so the second fridge which is in my study (long story). But they were too large to go on the shelves, they had to go in the door (where a water filter jug normally sits). Later, I opened the fridge to get something ... and two of them fell out, spraying trifle all over the front ledge, the wall (including the electrical sockets) and the floor, and breaking. Not much fun to clean up.
On reflection I realised that I am used to opening the fridge door quite firmly, because it usually has the heavy water jug there. The tall glasses obviously didn't like that much.
Later in the day I wanted to check if there was still stickiness inside the fridge. Opened the door carefully - but the remaining glass didn't even like that and leapt to its doom, spraying trifle the other way.
That was the bad part.

We're watching the Star Wars collection :)
We had a wonderful lunch of moist brined turkey, cranberry sauce, potatoes, beans, salad, and Sardinian wine. Then a dessert of panettone and espresso.

:sadcheer: That's too bad, Joe.
I'm not cooking my roast. I took it out of the fridge and noticed it smelled a little odd. I checked the date and it should have been OK. So I pulled back the plastic and noticed the corner that had the label over it was quite brown, and a nice gooey, creamy brown wide thread runs through the roast. Off to Safeway I went, but they were closed.
Fortunately I had some chicken breasts, pizzas (recently sent from Chicago!) and lasagna in the freezer. Nothing but the chicken seems very appealing with mashed taters, bisquits and green beans, though, so chicken it is.
My prime rib turned out nice. I cooked it at 375F for 1 hour and then turned off the oven and let it roast with the oven off for 3 hours. It was nice and tender and flavourful as I rubbed it with olive oil, garlic, kosher salt & coarse pepper. We had it with horseradish, roasted potatoes, brussel sprouts and carrots.
Sorry about your roast freemonkey, :sadcheer: but chicken is always a good meal IMO
Good call on not eating that roast, fm. Our roast was chicken anyway.

Had roast turkey and ham and all the trimmings round my parents house - back home now with some in-laws and having a cup of tea (and some more wine).

I had a peanut butter and grape jelly sammich on honey wheat berry bread and some plain Doritos tortilla chips when I got up this afternoon. I'm back at work now, contemplating getting a plate of BBQ turkey and ham the caterers brought yesterday.
I never could stomach PB&J sammiches :eww:

Actually, I not only stomached one, but two PB&J sammiches. In the TV show Big Brother, their punishment for losing the food challenges is to eat only PB&J for a week. That wouldn't be punishment for me.
It may be punishment by about day 5
