Upload your face image to myheritage.com (http://www.myheritage.com/FP/Company/tryFaceRecognition.php?s=1&u=g0&lang=EN), they have face recognition software to match you up with celebrity faces from 1800 to 2005.
My matches (in order) were:
Eduard Shevardnadze, former President of the Republic of Georgia
Bram Stoker, Author of Dracula
Pedro Almodovar, Spanish filmmaker

Herbert Hoover, President 1929-1933
Antonin Dvorak, Czech composer
Paul Verlaine, French poet
Jean-Pierre Raffarin, former French Prime Minister
Astor Piazzolla, tango composer and musician
Andrew Carnegie, multi-millionaire steel magnate and philanthropist
Funny, Dennis Franz, aka Detective Andy Sipowicz didn't show up in my list at all. I guess I don't look that much like him.

Has anyone tried feeding a real picture of Britney Spears or Kevin Costner or whomever into this thing, to see how much it reckons that they look like themselves?

It studies the shape of the face more than anything, either square, oval, etc. So yes, in that sense, your face will oftentimes resemble that of the opposite sex. Besides, some of us get our faces from our fathers/mothers. My husband resembles his mother more than his father, and his sister resembles her father more than her mother.

Interestingly enough, Brian Eno is Austrian and so is much of my heritage.
My aunt just finished taking and compiling all the family faces to see the resemblences and it's fucking awesome/interesting.

Hmm, I tried two pictures and NEITHER came back with ANY matches.
ETA: OK, third time is a "charm":
Keira Knightley
Jodie Foster
Jennifer Lopez (but... I didn't upload a pic of my butt... I see no other resemblance)
Karel Gott (male... wtf?)
Drew Barrymore
Elisha Cuthbert
Julianne Moore
Romy Schneider
Greta Garbo (sweet!!!)
Liza Minelli (ouch)
You're not using your avatar, right?

Oh ha, I just wanted to see if I punched in someone I found attractive, to see if those they are similar too were attractive to me too, but either way, apparently Ewan McGreggor looks like Ewan McGreggor first and foremost. He also resembles Michael Ballack.........yummy.

I used the pic of me at age 20:
Art Garfunkel
George Armstrong Custer
Edward Teller
Jose Raul Capablanca, Cuban chess champion
Francis Crick, discoverer of DNA
Deborah Kerr, Hollywood actress
Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Columbian writer
Saif Ali Khan, Bollywood actor
Bernard Herman, composer
Charles Bronson
The last one is funny because I used to work with a guy that looked almost exactly like Charles Bronson, except we used to call him "The Bishop" because of his endless tirades against the Mormon church, of which he was a member.

I don't even know who some of these people are, and I don't think I look anything like most of themI used Wikipedia for the ones I didn't know. For me, I could see the resemblance in the first list in particular, at least on the closest matches, the first few.

In the 2nd pic I used I was wearing glasses, the first person wears glasses of the same shape, and the 2nd two (both men) have deepset eyes, so the face recognition must have been looking at that area.
That George W. match just cracks me up, though!

oooh cool so far I got river phoenix (?!) Anna Korniwhat not and Jennifer Lopez .. very flattering (well the first two) but trust me, wholly inaccurate ;).
I wonder what I would get with a different picture?

That it lets you upload your photo then demands you register is annoying enough, but if it's crass enough to hold your results hostage the registration should at least work! Grrrr.
[edit] Bludgeoned it into submission.
I look like: Richard Stallman(53%) -- THE Richard Stallman? I've added some quotes of him.
Vidkun Quisling(51%) -- I don't know who that is, but Worst Last Name Ever.
Charls Aznavour(51%) -- Gesinteight.
Duke Ellington(41%) -- What.
Douglas Adams(41%) -- It would be gratifying if it were accurate, but again. What.
Richard Dedekind(41%) -- The hell man. I didn't even give it my beard picture!
David Bowie(40%) -- OK, that one makes sort of sense, if only because Bowie has so few features at all.
Colin Powell(39%) -- Must be the glasses.
Helena Bonham Carter(39%) -- Sort of! A better match than Duke Ellington anyway.
Monica Lewinsky(38%) -- I take that all back. I don't look like either of them.

Hmm interesting .. I tried again with a totally different pic and the only one I had in common with the two was River Phoenix (premortem). If I was a bloke I would be flattered. As I am not, I think I am gonna cry.

From the picture that you keep on your website..(not sure if it's still there)--I think you're a dead ringer for David Schwimmer. But I can see the Adam Sandler resemblance, too.

Once I got it to work (ie. used MSIE instead of Firefox and filled out bogus registration info) I just sat here taking a bunch of pictures of myself and tried various different ones. Two pictures of me staring straight ahead and not smiling resulted in Hugh Grant in the number one position. The toothless smile rang up Bing Crosby, the toothy grin brought Dustin Hoffman into the picture, and the bug-eyed, wide-mouthed tongue hanging out matched... Noam Chomsky.
John Carter
01-02-2006, 06:34 AM
I don't have a picture of myself to try. I have worn a beard much of my adult life because whenever I shave, I am told I look just like David Crosby. It gets old real fast.

I don't have a good quality picture I can try either, the only one I have is one that I keep in my CF profile and that one has my daughter in it, so I don't think it would be a good one to upload. (plus it's pretty poor quality, and off center, my other daughter took the picture and she was only 5 at the time)

"Back in the day" I used to tell girls I was David Schwimmer's stunt double. Scarily enough, some of them believed me ... of course given the location I'd use that line (bars), it's understandable I suppose.

David Beckham
Johnny Depp :woohoo:

I ran a pic of me taken the day of the worst hangover I've ever had. It is by far the worst picture I have ever made. Too bad to show anyone. I look like someone named Abhishek Bachchan (46%), Thomas Mann (43%), Carlos Santana (40%), and a some other people. And, apparently, Luci Liu.
I will run a non-hungover pic when I find one or take one.

I went through this on another board. I did four different pictures and I guess the person I most look like is Katie Holmes. She was the only person to come up on 3 of 4 tries and was #1 on one of the pics.
As I said on that board.... I'm purty :flirty:

Using my senior photo from high school I get:
64% Prince Harry
61% Neve Campbell
42% Natalie Wood
41% Annika Sorenstam
41% Ilan Ramon
39% Maria Sharapova
39% Martina Hingis
38% Nicole Kidman
37% Jason Donavon
36% Emma Watson
So apparently I look like female sports stars?
Ok, well, based on the picture I used I can actually see the Prince Harry (except I'm not as pale and don't have red hair), Neve Campbell and Natalie Wood to an extent, but the others, not so much.
Using a photo where I have a strange looking face and weird hair, I get:
69% Kirsten Dunst
68% Kate Winslet
67% Salma Hayek
65% Anna Kournikova
60% Katie Holmes
59% Jennifer Lopez
59% Sebastian Loeb
59% Andy Warhol
58% Yngwie Malmsteen
56% Patricia Arquette
Why do I keep looking like females? :( At least they're hotties, I guess
I will note that using a couple other pics, I was matched with Neve Campbell and Jason Donovan more times. So maybe I do look like them a little bit... I guess. I was also matched with Benito Mussolini once (AWESOME!).
I tried a photo where I'm making a weird face, but it couldn't find any faces in the picture :P
I think this program is much better at matching facial expressions and angles than it is at actually matching faces.

Weird ... In the past I've been told: Tom Cruise, Errol Flynn, and Scott Bakula. But this thing says:
Andrew Lloyd Webber
Pedro Almodovar (?)
Jerry Seinfeld
Alec Baldwin
Zsolt Baumgartner (?)
Peter O'Toole
John Malkovich
Sean Astin
Women:
Eleanor Roosevelt
Marguerite Yourcenar (?)
The above were using this picture (http://www.freethought-forum.com/forum/gallery/files/5/5/normal_100_0985.jpg).
Now, when I switch to this one (http://www.freethought-forum.com/forum/gallery/files/5/5/cnad2.jpg), I get (all results):
Liv Tyler
Audrey Hepburn
Andie McDowell
Mira Sorvino
Carrie-Anne Moss
Aishwarya Rai
Shania Twain
John Cusack (finally a male. Someone I like, too!)
Kareena Kapoor (?)
Sandra Bullock (since she tops my Friends list, does this mean I find myself attractive?)
At least with this latter list, there are a lot of attractive people. No, I'm not considering doing drag!
(?) - means I don't know these people

Also, upon more consideration, my second list in the above post is rather disturbing, since all those women are very attractive to me.

My top two matches are David Beckham and Brittney Spears. If I change the bounding box to center on my face, it says I look more like Sarah Michelle Gellar or Ewan McGregor.
Don't get to thinking that I'm all that good looking (as good looking as Ewan McGregor or Brittney Spears, anyway). The highest percent match was 57%, and that was Alexandre Dumas!

Hmm. The top match it gave me was for Matt LeBlanc. I'm not sure I can see it. (He was one of the guys on that show Friends, wasn't he, or am I thinking of someone else?)
I've been told before that I look like Sean Bean (Boromir in The Lord of the Rings), which isn't a bad thing, I guess. I've also been told that I look kinda like Robin Williams. Hmm. Not so sure about that.
By the way, that photo's as cute as heck, happykat.
