Yay! I just clicked 'confirm' and purchased my plane ticket home to Los Angeles. My tech school grad date is conveniently November 24, the day before Thanksgiving. Most hectic travel day of the year, but I don't give a fuck, I'm coming home for the holidays!
:cheerful: :woohoo: :fly2: :cloud9: :bouncy: :flower: :propeller:
My return flight is December 20, with the possiblity of spending Christmas in Charlotte and New Year's in either Atlanta or New Orleans. I don't know, I'm playing that all by ear, but I'm so fucking excited about being home for Thanksgiving I can barely contain myself!
Clarification: For my return trip, I'm flying back to San Angelo from Los Angeles, then I'm driving to Augusta, where I'll be stationed the next couple of years, and driving to those other possible cities from Augusta.

Burning up all your leave before you get into the swing of things? Have fun, Airman Ensign! :bouncy:

I was gonna suggest that but I figured she'd come up with it on her own if she cared. :hmph:

Probably not. I have Recruiter's Assistance in the Valley until December 10, and I plan on burning up all my money doing local L.A. things. I guarantee you I was considering it, and I still am, but don't hold your breath.

It's not exactly on my way, but I am keeping Tom in mind for before I leave. Sometime in the next two months, when he least expects it... Muahahahahah!

Oh yeah?! Well you'll never get to me unless I tell the gate you're coming, so muahahaha your damn self! :P
Two months, though? Damn that's a long time. I'll probably have to meet Gawen between now and then if you don't mind. You'll just have to wait your turn.

RAP ... oh, OK. Gotcha. No one told me about that until long after I was at my first duty station. I'd have hopped on that in a heartbeat. Been able to spend more time w/ my sweetie, see the boyz, etc. Ah well ... 'tis long gone now, and actually, I'd have missed out on some valuable OJT which served me well in the long run.
Anyway, have fun!

You, er I, er one can actually RAP one time a year as long as one's recruiter has the need and the commander says okay. :) My friend graduated a couple months ago and her husband, a Senior Airman, did RAP with her, just because he could.

See? I never knew about any of that. I was told it was a one-time only deal, so didn't spend any time researching it further. Oh well, just passed being out for 3 years and didn't even realize it. How time flies...
I guess the news of my company's across the board $2,500/yr raise for all eligible employees this coming July 1st kind of distracted me. Btw, this raise is in lieu of our bonuses, which are going after the end of this fiscal year (last years' bonus was in excess of $6300)!
Anyway, that RAP oughta be a relatively stress-free deal. Keep track of anything exceptional you do there ... it'll help for your first EPR.
