I was just wondering what y'all thought were the best compliments you ever received. I'm not big on flattery normally but there are a few compliments I will accept and take to heart.
One I received just recently, someone said I was just like Dostoevsky! Man, I got a new best friend, hehe. ;)
Beat that if you can. :P

I recently impressed someone when I asked his name and he said, "Charles Darnay."
I replied, "Yeah right, and I'm Sidney Carton," and he said he'd never met anyone who gave the correct reply before.
Heh. Being a bookworm comes in handy sometimes.
Physical compliments are a bit harder to come by when you look like me, but my very first boyfriend said he liked my nose. My nose?! I'd like to meet a man who was rather taken by the whole of my face and body!

Someone once asked me "Why are you so cool?"
I don't think I've gotten another compliment quite like that one. Apparently, only one person on this whole Earth thinks I'm cool, and I haven't seen him in (counts backwards) almost eight years.

I can't repeat the best ones in mixed company.

Beat that if you can. :PYou've never really struck me as a 200-year-old, bearded, dead guy.
I don't receive compliments as I'm beneath contempt.

Perhaps someone was implying Sweetie looks capable of committing murder purely to see if she can get away with it.

Damn, I'd be pretty pissed off at that if I were you. I'd be all like "Are you talking to me? Are you trying to imply that I was a liberal of the 1840s until I got my ass sent to Siberia where I renounced all of that and embraced conservative Orthodoxy and became a staunch supporter of the Tsarist autocracy before embarking on a two-decade gambling bender? Is that what you're saying?" And then they'd get a :glare:

:smugnod: like it!
Someone told me that i have a natural gift for scholarship. Also my piano teacher says i have so much talent that it sickens her.
Someone else called me "the most arrogant person alive", Im sure that was intended as a compliment.
