I can "white person" dance (i.e. no, not really).

I've been known to dance after about four or five drinks. How well, I don't know, I don't think I'm a good judge of my dancing abilities at that point.

I like to dance, and I do it regularly, but I don't think I'm especially good or graceful at it. Although my husband tells me I've "got some moves" (but I think he's just trying to get something off me).

I've always wanted for us to take some couples dance lessons, but not really feasible with his schedule.

Yes, though I rarely choose to.

I think I've mentioned this here before, but I once tried to learn latin and ballroom dancing. Don't laugh; I thought it would be an excellent way to meet girls.

It went well (in the sense I didn't trip anyone over more than once a week) for a few weeks, but came to a horrible end when my usual dance partner didn't just stop coming, but actually left the university. I returned the next week, and was followed round the room by a rather large girl with a squint, hoping for a dance partner.

I did not go back.

While I...reasonably enjoyed the ballroom dancing, I disliked a lot of the latin dances. And I cannot stand the typical 'party' dancing - I feel so self conscious I can never really get into it, and my mind ends up wandering onto other topics, like 'what am I doing here, standing up making stupid movements for?'.

That was a rant. The answer to the question is no, I can't dance.

Nope. I'm a terrible dancer. I do dance for fun, usually after a number of drinks.

When I lived in Oklahoma, I took two-step classes (along with a bit of west-coast swing and ballroom). Which here in Illinois have proven to be entirely worthless (and will continue to be so). I also took ballet in college (2 credits worth) but I have yet to see anyone ballet dance at a club, wedding or other social event.

I'm a good club dancer, but don't know how to ballroom dance or swing dance or anything like, with a name...foxtrot and such.

I Can't Dance
Genesis

Hot sun beating down
burning my feet just walking around.

Hot sun making me sweat
'Gators getting close, hasn't got me yet

I can't dance, I can't talk.
The only thing about me is the way I walk.
I can't dance, I can't sing
I'm just standing here selling everything.

Blue jeans sitting on the beach,
her dog's talking to me, but she's out of reach.

She's got a body under that shirt,
but all she wants to do is rub my face in the dirt.

'Cause, I can't dance, I can't talk.
The only thing about me is the way I walk.
No, I can't dance, I can't sing
I'm just standing here selling.

And checking everything is in place,
you never know who's looking on.

Young punk spilling beer on my shoes,
fat guy's talking to me trying to steal my blues.

Thick smoke, see her smiling through.
I never thought so much could happen just shooting pool.

But I can't dance, I can't talk.
The only thing about me is the way I walk.
I can't dance, I can't sing
I'm just standing here selling

And checking everything is in place
You never know who's looking on
A perfect body with a perfect face

Initially I get dragged onto the dance floor and look like :cowdance:

I have a couple drinks. Then I look like :stickman:

A little later I have a couple more drinks, with a significantly higher alcohol percentage. Then I look like :slide: :vogue:

That's how I remember it anyway.

Yeah, I'm another drink dancer. I get a few in me, and by the end of the night, I might just move my legs.

It depends(what doesn't?) I can't just go right out there and shake it up or be the first one on the floor. I need some time to relax, get a feel, maybe get a couple drinks in me. Then I start off a bit slow and then that's when I really get moving. I've got a few moves myself but it's not like I'm an expert or anything and I know that I'm not the best one out there.

I no longer go clubbing. At first it was fun but now I find it boring though it doesn't exclude going out sometimes with friends. I'd love to learn swing, latin, tango, and other forms of dances. I find them more refined and tasteful than just shaking it up and grinding hips in a club.

I can dance... just not WELL.

I sometimes enjoy dancing on my own, in private, where nobody can see me, but at a club type situation, I need to get drunk for there to be much movement. And even then I don't think I dance very well. But when you look around at the other people, I mean, I'd say I dance about as well as most of the other people at the club - but of course, they can't dance either.

Why would I want to?

I kindof stand in one place and jiggle.

I love to dance. I've never taken any real lessons, but we did all sorts of dances in show choir in high school (a song/dance group). The best was when we did a few swing songs. Most of the high school boys were nervous about throwing their partners around like that, but mine was great and we had a blast. I did a lot of dancing as a cheerleader too, but that was mostly choreographed routines and stuff. Alas, my husband is one of those who has to be *really* drunk to dance, so I only get to go when I'm out with my friends.
