New Scientist magazine reports that Stuart Brody, a psychologist at the University of Paisley, found having sex can help keep stress at bay.
However, only penetrative intercourse did the trick - other forms of sex had no impact on stress levels at all. Thoughts?

I haven't done much public speaking lately.
My girlfriend swears by the stress-reduction effect.

I have a fear of public speaking. I'll have to keep this in mind the next time I have to give a presentation.

How does this apply to anal sex, and to gay and lesbian sex tho?

Penetrative intercourse would include anal and/or strap-on dildo sex too, wouldn't it?

I'm not sure.
He was ambiguous, but I got the impression that all of the test subject were heterosexual.
Damn heterocentrists! I need to know whether I should have sex with a man or a woman before my public speaking events!

Thoughts?
BBC news articles on sex are the ultimate mood-killers. Can't you post porn instead?

What if you combined sex and public speaking? Would that increase or decrease your stress?

I would think so, but it's an ambiguous phrase. I mean, strictly speaking, isn't a blow job penetrative intercourse?

Now, that would be something to see. I'll bet Slick Willy Clinton would volunteer to reduce his stress regularly.
It would certainly give an entirely different look to the presidential debates, for sure.

A scene from Monty Python's "The Meaning of Life" comes to mind.

Forget about meditation to cut down on anxiety ...
Also ...
He said: "You are probably better off thinking about what you are going to say, and preparing thoroughly, rather than having sex the previous night."
Why not do both? I don't know about anyone else but ... the night before I have to give a seminar, I definitely have some free time to blow off some steam.

I once went straight from some lovely penetrative intercourse to a theater audition. Aced it.

What do you call it when Adora the lesbian goes into hospital for an operation?
A strapadictomy!
