View Full Version : Mel's Hells

Mel Gibson tells fellow christian that the feeling is not mutual.

Jesus was apparently not answering his cell...so they had to call the cops (http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5744,10997688%255E1702,00.html)

from the article~

He "approached me, interrupted my worship, stood extremely close from me and demanded that I pray with him", Gibson stated in the court documents.

The next day, the unwanted worshipper allegedly returned to the Gibson home and rang the bell at the gate. This time, Gibson's wife, Robyn, called the police and Sinclair was arrested.

I think Mel needs to follow up his Passion of the Christ with an upbeat and hopeful rendering of the Book of Matthew.

But, I'm an atheist...what do I know?

Gibson's a wanker.

What's the Book of Matthew all about?

I don't know those numbers!

Who the hell is Matthew?

/me has never even touched a bible, I don't think; let alone read one!

And even if I did look up those verses, I doubt I'd know what they meant.

Sit, my chil'...and let me preach it:

Matthew:

25:41
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

25:42
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

25:43
I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

25:44
Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

25:45
Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

25:46
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Now, tell me...how long has it been since you've been to confessional?

:groucho:

So now I have Dusty Springfield's Son of a Preacher Man a-playin' in my head.

Being good isn't always easy,
No matter how hard I tried,
When he started sweet talking to me,
he'd come tell me everything is alright,
he'd kiss and tell me everything is alright,
Can I get away again tonight?.

The only one who could ever reach me,
Was the son of a preacher man,
The only boy who could ever teach me,
Was the son of a preacher man,
Yes he was, he was, oh yes he was

and so on, and so forth.

So, verily, all those compassionate Christian conservatives who are so in touch with their inner scrooge and rant about how the poor deserve their lot in life and they are no good for anything but the gutter are gonna burn, huh?

That renders unto me a guilty smile, with it's roots in sadistic irony. I am now tarnished.

So why don't these rightwing and libertarian nutjobs read more Matthew? What's up with them? Bible not good enough now?

Anyway...back to confession...

:naughty:

As always, lunachick, it is the doom of men that they forget...um...or re-interpret "in context" to fulfill their own particular desires.

:yup:

But, there is always hope for our kind.

PS I heard Dusty singing that the other night while driving through one of our trademarked southern night storms. I killed the scanner, cranked up the volume and rolled down the windows as I hit the interstate. Just thought I'd share.

PPS Of course, you realize I am the son of a nun, though...right?

:innocent:

I do. :bouquet:

You know I still have a disk or two here with your name on them, and that song is on there.

I really need to tidy my desk. It's under all this junk somewhere. I have a feeling that a June birthday present will quickly become a December Christmas present. I'm hopeless.

Does Matthew have anything to say about people who leave mail unopened for weeks before getting a round tuit?

In the book of Petra, it says that tidy people are people who are just too darned lazy to look for anything. Petra 63:05-11

None of the above. I'm afraid that I wrote it back in my former life as the Christess, and it was summarily thrown out by the Nicene Council. Bunch of rogues those guys were! Anyway, I stashed a backup hardcopy in some caves on Mount Masada. Any day now, and it will be found.

* dusts himself off, looks around

Oh yeah...

So, does anyone have a perspective on Mel's apparent use of religion only when it suits him?

I think he lost a valuable opportunity to really help that man in more ways than prayer. Instead, he opted out.

I think the best way to get insight into Mel Gibson's character is to watch the South Park episode about The Passion of the Christ.
