I can't believe it's come and gone and not yet been mentioned here.
I don't pay much attention to Punxatawny Phil, 'cause he's on the other side of the country.
Today, here in the specific mosswet, we had a day of continuous overcast skies, punctuated by occassional showers. No ground borrowing animal living in these parts saw any shadows.
Does that mean spring is tomorrow?

No wonder you couldn't believe it, because it didn't happen! Which is to say, that a thread about it did happen (http://www.freethought-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6640&highlight=groundhog)!
It's this damn liberal war on Groundhog's Day.
I can't believe it's come and gone and not yet been mentioned here.

"Okay, okay... So I didn't think it through." ~ Alan Alda, Same Time Next Year
Sorry.
I had my mind on other things until about 11 pm.
Anyway, no shadow here and guess what? This weekend is supposed to by dry and relatively warm!

I forgot to go to Chipotle.
I went to Chipotle a couple of years ago on groundhog day, and they had this thing that if you came back the next day and showed them your receipt, you could get the same thing again, for free.
That was pretty cool.

Air America had a good take on it. They noted that the State of the Union and Groundhog day were very close together.
"It is an ironic juxtaposition: one involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication, and the other involves a groundhog."
