I think this might be an interesting thread, and I hope it takes off well.
I was talking to a good friend of mine here at FF, and I am really interested in what everyone thinks about this human phenomenon. Maybe you can tell us about your experiences.
Thanks in advance.

I think you might not be. If you were the topic we discussed would not have come up. I think the fact that this thread exists makes me think you are not entirely sure yourself.

When you meet someone else and actually remember their name for longer than 5 minutes. :)

When you can forgive them for what they did to you ... and mean it.

When you get tired of stalking them.

I never forgive. But then, I'm half Italian. I blame it on that.
Seriously, though. I reckon I'm over someone when I don't think about them all the time, or wonder about their opinion on things.
Or, as happened when my last ex called me and I said, "Ian? Ian...Oh, that Ian?" and meant it.

How can I tell when I'm over someone? When they do my bidding because I control whether they get a paycheck or not. By that standard, I'm not over anyone and never have been.
When they are not the last thing you think about when you go to sleep and not the first thing you think about when you awaken.

:yeahthat:
I'm with Legs and scarletpeaches. You're over that person when they're not the first thing you think about and when nor you think about them much and also when your mind's being happily occupied by other things.
For me, it's when my internal monologue isn't addressed to them any more.

The best way to get over one man is to get under another.
(I'm over all my exes, in that I won't go out of my way to destroy their lives...but if fate presents me with an opportunity, like, I buy a meat cleaver and their dog crosses my path, and I have a staple-gun too...No, seriously. I believe what goes around comes around, but if you let someone treat you badly and don't do anything to 'balance up fate', then you're a pussy and baby Jesus cries).
