Spock

Greetings!!!

I've come seeking a place where I can discuss and refine my ideas and views on life with people who care about such things. Using the suggested format, I'll divulge a little more about myself.

1. How'd you find the Freethought Forum?

Through a Google search.

2. Are you a member of any other online forums? Which?

Yes, a couple forums that are automobile oriented. A few Yahoo groups that are transportation oriented as well. This is my first stab at a groups such as this.

3. How do you feel about smilies (emoticons)?

They have a use I suppose. It is sometimes hard to convey meaning using only words.

4. How do you feel about 2500+ smilies?

It is excessive. I'm a purist. :)

5. Is flaming:
A. Hilarious
B. Beneath you
C. Irritating as fuck

C I suppose. It show a lack of ability to properly debate ideas and a symptom of a closed mind.

6. Is vulgar language:
A. Hilarious
B. Beneath you
C. Irritating as fuck

To quote Mark Twain "Under certain circumstances, profanity provides a relief denied even to prayer." There is a time and place for profanity, but excessive use indicates a lack of intelligence.

7. Why did the chicken cross the road?

Because he/she could.

8. Who pays for your food?

A group of electrical pulses travelling rapidly through a phone line usually take care of the task.

9. What's one thing you've always wanted to do but never have?

One thing? There's a few. Most have to do with travelling here or there. It will happen eventually.

10. What is your single favorite place in the world?

At home, on my couch together with my wife and dog.

11. What's the significance of your username?

For whatever reason, I've alway identified with the character "Spock" on Star Trek. I am not completely logical, nor am I devoid of emotion. Perhaps I identify with Spock's puzzlement over humanity.

12. What about your avatar?

Don't have one yet.

Spock is the coolest. There's just no question about it. Having said that, I'll spare you the avalanche of Star Trek smilies.

How long until he says, "Beam me up! There's no intelligent life down here."

How logical is it for a vessel protocol to send it's entire executive officer corps into the most risky situations it encounters?

Dammit, Jim, I'm a doctor, not a Scientologist!

And, dammit, where did Scotty get to? And Ensign Steve...?

Hello Spock! I presume by the above replies that you must be named after some kind of literary or other such fictional character?

The logical analysis by Primer cannot be faulted. However....

You're joking, right?

NTM
