Hola Gente!

I am a reasonably active poster (in the wrong parts) at IIDB. I am not here because IIDB has failed to satisfy me in every possible way. I just had a need to create an introductory thread again on behalf of myself.

Please allow me to share some random points loosely connected with my personal being.

1. I am not Spanish, nor do i speak Spanish fluently, nor do i speak it at all.

2. I am fond though of typing stuff into an online translator and posting the results.

3. Soy un ventilador muy grande de Zappa franco. Es absolutamente posible que él ha sido la influencia más grande en mi vida hasta ahora. Él es el mejor amigo de los freethinker musicalmente inclinados.

4. At this stage of my age, i am nineteen years, three-and-a-half months old.

5. I am in the middle of a BSc/BA. My majors are mathematics and history. Unfortunately, i'm not really good at either.

5.5. My minors are politics and astronomy/astrophysics.

6. My favourite movie is the Blues Brothers.

7. I'm about to put some records onto CD for a friend. This will commence from anywhere between 5 and 60 minutes from now.

7.5. Apart from FZ, my muscial interests include Miles and his aluminaries, Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Monk, Captain Beefheart, Tom Waits, Pixies, Prince, 20th century classical music especially Bartok, Rage Against The Machine, The Meters, Living Colour, Van Morrison.

8. I'm pretty sure "ventilador" doesn't mean "fan" in the sense i intended.

9. I live near the fair city of Melbourne, Australia. Home of the Australia vs. Third World Countries Olympics held earlier this year.

10. I'm not sure what i want to do when i finish my degree by way of a career.

11. I have not believed in the supernatural for as long as i can remember.

12. People should realise that the wearing of a Che Guevara t-shirt has now lost all meaning.

13. Upon learning all about the Enlightenment, I feel that i can really relate to the philisophes and don't really agree with criticisms of the thought that came out of that movement.

13.5. I think Tori Amos is oustandingly attractive. :yup:

14. I am very happy to be here and look forward to meeting you guys.

Thanks for reading,

Primer Mi Carucha.

Aye, aye. I'm glad to see an Enlightenment philosophe here.

I would just like to state for the record that because of this thread, I have had the tango from Scent of a Woman ("Por Una Cabeza") stuck in my head all morning.

What with the talk of Zappa and random online translations, I now have the German verse to "Stick It Out" stuck in my head.

Fich mich, du miserabler hürensohn
Du miserabler hürensohn
Fich mich, du miserabler hürensohn
Du miserabler hürensohn
Strech ihn aus
Rein und raus
Und es sprizt, sprizt, sprizt, sprizt --
Feuer!
Aber beklechter nicht das sofa, sofa!
Aber beklechter nicht das sofa, sofa!

(The spelling is from memory. Don't you judge me. Fuckers.)

Welcome, PMC! Same Shake from IIDB here. I like this place for reasons totally unrelated to II, and I'm sure you'll come to enjoy it here, too.

These German lyrics are making me think of Die Eier von Satan from Tool (new album out May 2 :woohoo:).

Thanks guys.

I would just like to state for the record that because of this thread, I have had the tango from Scent of a Woman ("Por Una Cabeza") stuck in my head all morning.

Glad to be of service! That's a great tango.

You know Histrionica, in some ways i think it's a shame he loved to sabotage his works by giving them such flippant and graphic names. Sure i don't care, but there must be a lot of potential listeners who are turned away by the image of a burnt weeny sandwich.

Ahh, if it isn't my compadre Mr. Shake! How are you? And Tool certainly are a shining light...

Glad to be of service! That's a great tango.

That it is. Besides, I'm just glad to have something musical to contribute given my Zappa ignance.

I agree with your comment about Zappa's glib nature.

And i still can't find that darn album. (Weeny - oops!)

What's IIDB?
