This book (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0684813785/internetinfidels) is a good history of the Manhattan Project, and an excellent read.

I have the 5 DVD box set from VCE (http://www.vce.com/atomcentral.html) which has lots of great footage as well.

Ah, yeah, I can see why one would hate one of the best search engines. If one doesn't want to find something, it will blow their whole day.
