I am completely and utterly in love with the Teen Titans cartoon on Cartoon Network. Sure, it's targeted at a younger audience, but for someone who is familiar with the storied history of the Titans, it's a blast.

My daughter loves watching the show with me and will sing along with the theme song (which totally rocks!)

One of the best aspects of the show is how the creators married the characters of the Titans with the Japanese superhero team archetypes best exemplified by Gatchaman (or Battle of the Planets or G-Force or Eagle Riders?).

They were able to do this and still have the characters remain pretty faithful to their original comic book incarnations.

Robin - The Leader. Ever resourceful, brave and determined. Has all the answers and is respected by the entire team.

Raven - The Lieutenant. Second-in-command. Dark, broody and gives the appearance of being a loner. However, will always be there when needed.

Starfire - The Princess. Happy, naive and trusting. Has strong feelings for The Leader. The team cheerleader.

Cyborg - The Big Guy. Fun-loving, jovial and physically powerful. Great comic relief partner with The Kid.

Beast Boy - The Kid. Young, small in stature, goofy and mischievous.

The episodes are action-packed, but are fairly light-hearted. There are some serious episodes (the Terra storyline) and some episodes that are just pure fun (any episode with The Mad Mod).

So, am I alone in my geek-fervor for The Teen Titans?

(ooops. just realized this is better suited for "Arts & Literaure". if the gracious admins wouldn't mind moving this thread...)

While I wouldn't say I am geeky about the show, my 5 year old son loves it. He loves lots of stuff that is on the kid channels. Out of all of it what I like best is Teen Titans, Spongebob (Spongebob just rules) and another show I can't recall the name of that is about 3 or 4 teenaged girls who combat the forces of evil while still chasing after boys and being fashionable :D

My kid also likes the Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles, but that doesn't do much for me.

See, I was setting you up and you took the bait :D You really are a kid's show geek, huh? hehe, nothing wrong with that, it's some good TV. Stargate SG-1 is better, but...

damn.

I am a geek. :loser: :nerd: :frink:

Truthfully, it's not that I watch all the cartoons. But, there are a lot of promotional commercials on Cartoon Network.

Seriously. That's my reason. I mean it.

I like Teen Titans, most of the time. The characters, overall are cool. My favorite is Raven. She never impressed me, what little I saw of her in the comics but redoing her as a goth is pretty cool.

The 'Slade' stuff got old real fast, causing me to fast forward through a bunch of the episodes. I hated how he never actually had any plans except screwing with the Titans. Also why couldn't they have just called him Deathstroke? It sounds better than Slade.

The plots are pretty basic stuff, but that's not so bad for a superhero show. The new Justice League show gets away from the heroics a bit too much.
