So... What's the deal with the selections these days?

Are we no longer allowed to have substandard typeface sizes?

I usually use the [1] setting on [Size] for my afterthoughts and asides...

Will we henceforth never be allowed to do anything with the typeface size except [SIZE=4]enlarge it?

Now it's not functioning as I think it should.

(See? That last line should be smaller than the rest.)

Erm... It is smaller than the rest. "Now it's not functioning as I think it should." is half the size of the default I am using outside the quote marks. Do you not see that, godfry? Which browser are you using?

Nope. Everything looks to be the same size, with the exception of the single word I enlarged.

I'm on Internet Explorer. It's work, it's required. I cannot change it.

I use IE at work too, but I see the small font as per usual. There's the ignore fonts option in Tools-Internet Options-Accessibility, but if you had that checked off, you wouldn't see the large font either (not to mention the whole page would look seriously weird).

I don't know what the problem could be, godfry. I'll do a little Googling. Meanwhile, mayhap one of our resident geeks will know how to cure what ails you.

Posting in IE (firewall turned up to max).

Do you see small fonts (size 1)? Large fonts (size 3)? Different font face Book Antiqua?

Preview looks like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v437/SecretCode/fonts.gif

Is it possible the page had aborted loading before being completely loaded? I've found some of the options don't work in that case.

Using Firefox under Linux, the macro and micro text shows up just fine for me...

Joe...

I see the large fonts and the different face, but the "small font" remains the same as the default size.

Was last week; still is this morning.

Do you have access to another computer you can log in at? I think we've established that it's not something to do with the board itself. If you can see smallfonts on another machine that would eliminate problems with your account or cookies. And point us to the "reformat and reinstall" sledgehammer. JOKE. Seriously, going to add/remove programs and repairing IE might help.

Or it might be a font problem. Following sentence alternates normal and size=1 in various fonts.
The shape of it was as a lion, but bigger and taller, the colour a dull red, and it had prickles lancing out behind, as of a porcupine; its face a man's face, if aught so hideous might be conceived of human kind, with staring eyeballs, low wrinkled brow, elephant ears, some wispy mangy likeness of a lion's mane, huge bony chaps, brown blood-stained gubber-tushes grinning betwixt bristly lips.

On IIDB a poster asked in the admin forum about the same thing as you Godfry. That poster is also using IE.

In his case it was also the smaller font sizes that didn't display properly. The problem "self" corrected though.

So, I am thinking this is probably an IE specific bug of some sort. Doesn't really help you correct the issue, but at least you aren't alone

Thanks, dantonac...

I'm not surprised.

I'm also not so sure "not being alone" is as comforting as I used to think.
