:) I'll skip the pms smilie search for now on account of a queasy tummy, but I can kinda imagine...
oh and guess what? The new icon is actually a photoshop effect on one of my paintings, and that's exactly what I thought too (that it looks like mother of pearl). If you look at it veeeery closely you can see the painting parts in it. But then it will steal you soul. HA! :bond:
Well probably not really. But for some reason that popped into my head when I photoshopped it and was staring at it.

No way! I didn't even know you painted. That's gorgeous, Lauri. Now I'm totally over the poppy. :yup: :museum:

I knew Lauri painted, but now that I think about it, she hasn't shown us her work.
Lauri, you need to post some of your pieces here....a little online gallery.

:D Thanks!
It's this - with the photoshop "polar alignment" or something applied.

Funnily <--- not a word enough, I am now in a painting mood. Later I will post (in a separate thread) pictures of my insanity. :dali:

It is a word, actually, just your basic adverbification <--- really not a word of the adjective. :)
Lauri, your painting has a real cubist flair. Is that your main style or just what inspired you in the moment?
Oh, and would you like a split or would you prefer just to start over with an OP of your own? You could also post here (http://www.freethought-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=786) if you felt the urge.

That is indeed my style. I can't paint anything resembling reality (er, I think they call it "representational" or something) to save my life.
A split would be good, methinks. This thread is muddled enough as it is (not in small part due to my nonsensical rantings  ) Do as you see fit. :)

This is what I am going to work on finishing today. Wish me luck.

It's your blue period! Good luck, Lauri. :cheer:

Whoa... you ain't kidding (about the blue period thing). I just went to town on that canvas, letting the spirit move me as it were, and this is what I came up with. It needs refinement, but it's taking on the general shape of what I had in mind.

Hey, do you have any more you can post?

No other canvases, but I just spent an hour fucking with the one I just posted. It's much darker now  I like it better though. I have blue paint in various shades all over my face, hands and extremities... I think the guys at the corner store think I'm a freak. Hehe.

Ooh I really like it darker. Do you think it's finished now?

I'm almost finished with it but ran out of the dark blue (almost black, to be mixed) paint. So I played with photoshop instead!!!

I like those photoshop textures. They look pointillistic in parts. Very cool. :yup:
Wow wow wow. I'm basking in appreciation of form and texture.
You said This is what I am going to work on finishing today and I can see that is the same painting, completely covered over, as this is what I came up with. But I assume It's this - with the photoshop "polar alignment" or something applied is a different one?
Do they have names, and if not, can we suggest names? ... invasion of artist's domain :muahaha:
So glad your little rant back there was only temporary. (Although I have to say I agree with some of the shouted sentiments. :chin:)
