Hmmm. Well, according to CF doctrine, that phrase should read " and the mods shall inhibit the earth". Words they take very seriously, I might add.

I read the exhaustive list of rules again just to be sure, but none of the three rules actually list hiding the pot as a offense worthy of banning.

OT, now:
I gave a paper last week on the topic of Daves.
No, really.
I used the Dr Seuss poem and the Kids in the Hall song as jumping-off points for a discussion about the natural language notion of a name. What, in particular, does it mean for two people to have the same name?
As one famous philosophical Dave wrote a few decades ago: "All in all, proper names are a mess, and if it weren't for the problem of how to get the kids to come in for dinner, I'd be inclined just to junk them altogether."

Just what do you think you're doing, Dave?...Dave... I really think I'm entitled to an answer to that question...I know everything hasn't been quite right with me, but I can assure you now, very confidently, that it's going to be alright again...I feel much better now, I really do...Look, Dave, I can see you're really upset about this...I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill and think things over...I know I've made some very poor decisions recently, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal...I've still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission, and I want to help you...

You know, if I may momentarily follow the serious turn the thread has taken, drifting slightly away to a different but related topic ....
Do you self-identify as an outsider here? Adora formerly did, maybe still does; wade-w has; Nil Desperandum recently made an outstanding first post lamenting his feeling of not being able to keep up; I'm pretty sure Goliath feels alone on the fringe ;); vm himself, despite being a co-owner of the site, has commented things at various times that make me think he feels like an outsider himself. Now 'fish and Toad, for different reasons, have posted that they can't keep up and thus feel on the outside. I personally am a fairly asocial person, don't follow everything, feel on the fringe, wondering sometimes if anyone thinks I'm a brute because I'll devote hours to a political rebuttal but ignore any and all cries of anguish.
I don't think we can all be outsiders ... when might we realize we are in fact just different facets of the whole, rather than little motes drifting around peripheral to the main action?

I think it's fairly safe to say that most people that post in message boards feel a bit like an outsider at least some of the time if not most or all of the time. I look at it as something we all have in common.

You are an outsider, I am an insider. Being on the inside I can see who else is on the inside as well, but I can't provide names, it's an insider's secret.
Nah, seriously I would tend to think most, if not all, regard themselves as being an outsider.
I had some wisdom to share as to why this is, but I didn't like what I wrote so I just deleted it. It was really good though :P

I'm sorry, wade; I have a notoriously spotty personal memory, and I believe I over-construed what you had written here (http://www.freethought-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=17087&postcount=32) two days ago. I didn't mean to misrepresent you.
