Did you notice where it says it's always better to post in an existing thread than to start a new one?

:?

It must be a video for people who have No New Ideas.

on the other hand, at II, I have seen 3 different threads about landover baptist going on at the same time while a quick search would have told the thread originators that Landover is indeed a parody site.

I suppose this is what they meant, from the context. I think it would have been better to say "It is always better to post in an existing thread than start a new thread when a thread already exists on your topic."

If a thread on your topic doesn't already exist, it's rude to derail someone else's thread just so you can post about your topic.

I think the search issue is a big one on big sites with a long history. I don't think it really applies to the likes of us.

indeed, of course something else about the new thread thing, is that while there have been countless commie/capitatlist debates at II, reading through them wont let you battle your side. I dont really like resurrecting long dead threads anyway.

Not really much of an issue here, I think I have read just about every thread since I joined. I will just use my memory search function.

Neither do I. One of the sites I looked at when doing research for this one had a rule against it, and they're enormous. As in 9000 members online at any given time hundred thousand posts a day enormous. How they hell they moderated for things like thread necromancy I don't know. :undead:

slightly off-topic, and probably way off the wall is a germ of an idea that Just wo'nt leave my pea brain is the concept of a salon (as in Paris) where people just have conversations about any given subject. Not debates but quiet conversations, without too many smart-ass retorts ( I am referring to my own tendencies in the last remark).

I know that this is a concept that probably far too unwieldy to ever work, however I've been thinking about it so I thought I would stick my head out so someone can put me out of my misery.

Thoughts?

Kinda an open thread

I like it. A lot. Sorry, Toad, your misery is going to have to continue, because now I want you to think of how we could go about implementing a Salon theme here at FF.

Absolutely!

Today is thread necromancy day (http://www.freethought-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=587719#post587719), and this is the oldest thread with the word necromancy in it.

Thanks Uth. Why does he sit on the reanimated hand?

Well, he's really only leaning up against the reanimated upper arm, as the reanimated lower arm (with reanimated hand) has moved up to the reanimated chest. I blame a really small set.
