 He clearly loves that stuff. Is it just the sweet potato smearage or does Cade have Angelina Jolie lips?
LadyShea

That's him sticking his lip out because he was sorta raspberrying me. He is really good at it and has the most heartbreaking pouty face on the planet. But, normally no he is not so Angelina mouthed ;)

Here is a pic showing his normal lips. I am so disappointed with the quality of this because he looked adorable. Something fucked up with the flash

Thanks, I think he's pretty damned cute too. And he makes me laugh. He's fun.
And I'll have you know I made those sweet potatoes for him...no prepackaged Gerber-shit in my house. I love how I'm all domestic now.

Very cute, Shea, and I can't believe you're actually cooking!

Uh, I nuked a potato then whipped it with a mixer with some water. Dunno if I'd call that cooking

Hey, that's damned domestic for me, just not necessarily "cooking"! Actually Frankie has been doing the cooking, and he enjoys it, and he's not half bad at it!

I've learned to enjoy cooking, to the point where in many cases I prefer my own food to restaurant fare. I never saw that coming.

Trying to remember now when I started my babies on solids. Seems like I only did rice cereal and breastmilk the first year. A lot of the literature that I read then said that it was better to wait so they don't develop allergies to foods that their stomachs aren't quite ready for and that when you move to solids that you should start them off with veggies because we all have such sweet tooth that they won't eat anything that's not sweet after something yummy like sweet potatoes. But knowing you, I'm sure you've read all the latest stuff about that! And if I didn't mention yet, what a cutie.

The Dr. said to start introducing solid foods, a different food every week, at 5.5 months. One food a week allows us to see if there are allergies or reactions. We give him one tiny serving each day, it's an introduction only to textures and flavors not really nutrition at this point, he still gets that from his formula. We started with bananas, then sweet potatos, next week will be carrots. Some of my reading indicated going from sweet to less sweet to avoid him rejecting solids out of hand.
Cereals cause constipation so I have chosen not to bother with them.
And thanks, Aspen, for assuming I have researched all this. I like having a reputation for that. And I too think he's a doll :)

Interesting! Sounds good to me.

That is a new thing then-- but sounds sensible enough.

Really? Even the thinned out baby rice cereal?

Well I know you like to do your reading-- and we've know each other a while now. :D

I simply can't believe you've got Cade wearing a NC State shirt and a Duke bib. Talk about fraternizing with my alumni's moral enemies :snooty:
Nah, Cade's really cute regardless! ;)

His biological grandparents visited last weekend from Raleigh. They are NC State fans, and my hubby is a Duke fan so they brought both LOL
LS, I think that it is really awesome that Cade's biological grandparents get to visit with him. You guys are so cool. :)

You need to get him more Duke attire. :yup:
He's a very cute boy, but he'd look better in all Duke blue.
