Hi,

As per the title, this Poll is about the Sport *you* enjoy participating in, the most.

You can participate in this Poll, at many levels, from 'spectator', to 'professional'.

Post/type your favorite-Sport, in this thread. And it doesn't need to be an 'Olympic'-sport either.

(please forgive any errors/omissions, as this is my 1st. ever attempt at creating a "Poll".)

Enjoy good Fun, with it!

Annie

yeah! - I got this Poll to post this time. Persistance pays :D
~
Well, my favorite Sport I participate in is *Figure-skating*.

Yes, I'm obsessed with it, lol.
In this world, they call it (AOSS=adult onset skating syndrome). For the increasing Adult-students so involved, this means we plan/fit (sleep, meals, jobs, family, yadda, yadda) around our Ice-practice sessions.

Of course, unless you 'own' an Ice-rink, we are severely-restricted in the number of hours we get to PLAY there. And *play* is what this is all about, perpetually :D
So, currently I get to play only 4+ hours weekly. ~ But I plan on increasing this, soon.

Presently I'm learning skills alone, with the help of my wonderful Coach who I appreciate very much! -

Hopefully, I will succeed in advancing so us 2 can *Pair-skate*, yup we share ambitious goals.

I will post later
1. How learning Figure-skating, can benefit *anyone* - and
how it has/is doing this for me, specifically.
and
2. What specific skills I am having Fun learning...

Now it's Your :yup: opportunity!, sharing about your favorite Sport you wholeheartedly enjoy participating in...

Cheers,

Annie

This poll doesn't make any sense. Excuse me for a moment while I recover from my shock.

I actually think it's a decent poll. No worries about, "Hey, you left out <my sport> from the list!" since you can break them down into individual vs team. But then again, you could check most any of the options, especially since spectator and judge are included.

I like to bicycle, run, and swim, which are all individual sports (although each of them could be team sports as well). I like to watch them too. But I also enjoy watching baseball, football, and hockey. I'd play the first two, but only at an amateur level, whereas I'd watch the pros.

So yeah, having thrown 'spectator' in there really messes up the poll, since it's about "participation". I'm not a professional athlete, but I watch pro sports.

Tennis and golf. Though I don't play as much tennis since I came to the UK. I can't find anyone to play with (might be changing soon though!).

I love golf, I could play golf everyday if only I had the time and money. Of course, enough money would give me the time :D I prefer to play with someone else, but I could easily play alone and still enjoy 18 holes.

Oh and the physically toughest sport of all - poker.

Swimming, but I rarely ever get to swim. I love power walking, but I don't think that is a sport. I like to horseback ride bareback, I do consider that a sport because it takes a lot of strength to hold on when a horse is cantering. And it is intense to do so at a gallop!

I enjoy tae kwon do and have a 2nd degree black belt. No medals worth mentioning tho, since I haven't won any that involved people outside of our school.

I used to do swimming and gymnastics when I was young.

I am not much of a spectator. I can tolerate watching sports, but generally, I would rather watch something else.

Things that are sort of a cross between art and athletics (e.g. dancing, figure skating) are more interesting to me, in general. Which isn't to say that I don't enjoy many films that are about sports.

I think racewalking is a sport. There are racewalkers who could probably beat you in a race where you were allowed to run/jog (I read that a high level competitive racewalker can do a mile in under 6 minutes).

I am a very competitive person when it comes to things like sports. If I'm playing a sport, I'm there to win.... even if there's no prize involved other than the glory of winning. If I am unable to play a sport I love, I watch it... also in a competive manner. When I was in high school, I didn't make it on the girls basketball team because the bitch coach said I was too small (I'm 5' 1.5" and 95 lbs). She wouldn't even let me try out at least, and I would've suprised the fuck out of her. Even though I'm small, I can shoot the ball better than my dad, especially three-pointers and free throws. Anyhow, so since I was prevented from playing ball, I became a cheerleader so I could still be around the game and stuff. Long ramble short, I turn anything that becomes a matter of winning and losing into competition, even board games and cards (although... I am addicted to Texas Hold 'Em about as much as b-ball)

If being funnies, then I can only assume what else you may be referring to, but I don't want to make any assumptions, for my response may be embarrassing if it doesn't fit. But, I don't get offended that often, so... either way... cool!

Bicycling! It's always those 95 pounders that can fly up the hills!
